This wonderful 3 bedroom B&B in Odessa MO is close to Kansas City but a world away. Tranquil farm with pool and animals. Hosts are super nice and give a great breakfast. Very accommodating for special diets, Couple special place. They also do weddings!

Great Getaway

We stayed three nights.  It was comfortable, relaxing, and the breakfasts were delicious.  We loved our stay.  During the day, we visited KC and Independence, coming back to the B&B was the relaxing atmosphere we needed.  The pool and hot tub were nice.

Relaxing - great breakfast!

I am so glad my sweetie surprised me with a night at Sunset Acres for our 2 year anniversary!  This was our first Bed and Breakfast experience and it surpassed our expectations!  

Brenda was a very gracious host, taking care of our every need and then giving us space to just spend time together.  We liked that we were the only ones there (we went during the week) and had the spacious decks, beautiful grounds, and AWESOME hot tub to ourselves!  

We paid extra for the steak dinner that night, which was wonderfully seasoned and prepared!  The breakfast the next day was also superb, with banana syrup waffles and her famous scrambled eggs included!  

We will come back during the summer months next time and take advantage of the pool, and maybe do some fishing, too.  We enjoyed the deck so much we never made it to the pool table or movies downstairs, either.  I would add at this point that you must be comfortable with cats; they aren't at all a nuisance and we thoroughly enjoyed Security Officer Smoky (gray cat).  However, they are there and might bother those with allergies or the weirdos that don't like cats ;)  

The food, grounds, and instant relaxation were great, and Brenda's hospitality made us content and comfortable.  We will be back!

Relaxing, romantic weekend getaway

I had the pleasure of meeting Bill and Brenda through a mutual friend.  They are helpful and giving people and their bed and breakfast beautiful. I rented out all 3 rooms and had my wedding there in September.  Brenda's breakfast is delicious and she cooked sides for my wedding.  People are still raving about the cooking.  The home is clean and the rooms are comfortable. And I loved that hot tub!!! Give it a chance.  Close to the city but still far enough into the country to be able to relax and take in the beauty!

They made my wedding weekend Superb!!

Awesome. Our family stayed two nights at Sunset Acres when our daughter got married in Blue Springs, a few miles away.  Sunset Acres was a great getaway.  It was the perfect distance from suburbia . . a real nice escape but not too far from town.  The accommodations and food were both great.   We loved the interaction with Bill and Brenda Ohrem, the owners.  They were like old friends right from the start.  We didn't deserve the fine treatment we received.  It was like my summers in the south, where I would spend a weekend with family in the country who had created a peaceful atmosphere around themselves.  When was the last time you slept with your window open and listened to cicadas, or a bird in the distance instead of 18-wheelers on a highway . . all while being treated like royal family?  We will go back, see new friends and get pampered again, I promise.
