This hotel worked perfectly for us. It's adjacent to Monterey Bay Coastal Trail and a very short walk to San Carlos Beach Park. It's an approximately 1 mile walk to the Wharf and an easy walk to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Lots of great restaurants, like the Wave street Café.
If you want to have a nice morning breakfast with outside seating with a view, this is the place.
This hotel is not a High End hotel. It's an older hotel but with the right touch of comfort.  
For example. The parking is free. They have a luggage cart for your convenience and an elevator. The lobby is small but offers a Coffee Station with some treats for you to take along with you for the day. The rooms are comfy and come with all the amenities you expect from the High End hotels but you have to pay extra for them. Not here, you get  all you need. A large flat screen TV and a microwave oven and a fridge/freezer combo with a separate freezer.  The bed was also comfy too. 
The only downside I would mention is, be aware when you book, especially on-line.
I got the queen/accessible room. The bathroom is large but there are no counter space in them because of the wheelchair accessibility that is needed.
So just double check on that and you won't be disappointed with your stay.

Monterey getaway

This is a great little motel. And the location is ideal as it is right between Fishermans Wharf and Cannery Row. We enjoyed the fireplace in the room, and the place was very clean. It was a good deal. We would definitely stay there again on our next trip.

Great place to stay

free parking, good location, walking distance to the aquarium, fisherman's wharf etc. room is clean. no issues during stay, staff friendly, price reasonable. would recommend. don't understand this Tripadvisor 200 words requirement for writing review, I am happy to share my experience and help other travelers like they have helped me, but I don't have time to write a long article!


overall satisfied

We stay here every September for my girlfriend's birthday. We love it because it has a great view, and the bike path out back puts all of Cannery row and the aquarium within a short walking distance. 

Great place to stay without breaking the bank.

Good location and helpful staff. Got a great outside area.
Room was very large and clean. It was also noisy though. It was on the main road and there seemed to be some noise all night long.
Only a 10 minute walk to cannery row though with plenty of bars and restaurants.

Nic hotel

The staff is respectful, the views are immaculate. The overall experience is one I’ll never forget and Cannery Row Inn has a lot to do with it. The vibe there is great and has great parking for a hotel in Monterey area.

Guest comfort and safety should be priority.Here now and disappointed with the lack of customer focus! Like the location, room was alright but can't recommend, I had read to bring hearing protection from street noise but JACKHAMMERS? Yep that's right not full but they placed us next to road CONSTRUCTION! 

Then there's the malfunctioning mini fridge. I have a compromised immune system so have to be careful which I told the clerk Like others with similar issues I when a travel fridge thermometer. I purchased some locally made cheese and other items which I had to pitch because although the freezer works perfect, the fridge is 50 at it's coldest. Thank heavens I did that or I could have had a ruined vacation from eating spoiled food and getting sick!

I asked for help from the front desk. She first said the refrigerator wasn't meant to be cold enough for food!! She agreed to send someone and I said okay that was fine we were leaving. To cut down the maid's workload and be environmentally conscious I had the do not disturb sign on the door. I received a call they couldn't go in because of the sign. I explained why the sign was there. She said well we can't go in because that's our policy. I said I am giving you permission. Still not working. One of the features that I really value as I have to be careful what I eat. In addition to throwing out food I purchased yesterday, I had to leave leftovers behind today, nowhere to keep them.

Customer focus lacking

When I first saw the hotel as I was driving up, I was not real impressed, but when I checked the roo, my expectations rose to a new level. The room was very clean, the fireplace was awesome and the view of the beach was excellent. The beach was about 100 feet from the hotel and cannery row was 2 blocks away as was fisherman’s wharf. I got a great price and was very satisfied. I have already booked my next visit at the end of march. You can’t go wrong with this hotel. 

Very good accommodations

Very friendly staff, Immaculate room, with a Semi-Modern styling.  Nice partial ocean view. Perfect location and reasonably priced. Definitely would stay again. Perfect location for biking hiking and dining. Very quiet and slept soundly.

Excellent hotel. Large room, close to all the fun stuff in Monterey, right across from the ocean too. Very clean and quiet. The price was very reasonable as well. Definitely recommend to others and will be back again soon. Receptionist was very courteous and friendly. Made our stay that much more enjoyable.
