I recently stayed in the Suite with Kitchenette at Amador Hotel, and it was fantastic! The room was spacious and cozy, and the kitchenette allowed me to cook up some of my favorite meals. It truly felt like a home away from home

I stayed at Amador Hotel for a business conference, and I was blown away by the facilities and services. The meeting rooms were state-of-the-art, and the catering was delicious. A great experience all around!

I can't say enough good things about my experience at Amador Hotel. The room was spacious and modern, and the amenities were top-notch. The restaurant on-site was a highlight of my trip - the food was absolutely delicious!

Amazing Experience 

We highly recommend this hotel!! We had the most wonderful 2-nights stay, my two (very picky!) teens loved it! Fresh renovated rooms, everything new and clean and impeccable, I loved wooden ceilings and huge windows facing beautiful forest. Amazing very hospitable and attentive crew, they treat you like family! We liked also liked that there are adjacent rooms (and balconies) to share with friends. There is a nice restaurant with pool tables and good food and drinks. 
Short drive (under an hour) from Kirkwood, and tons of amazing places nearby! We loved Black Chasm Caverns (less than 10 minutes away and home to some super rare structures - only 2 caverns in the US have them!).

We have stayed here for several years - sometimes for work, sometimes while taking some rest time.

When COVID hit, the Inn pivoted to long-term stays of one week minimum - this to accommodate essential workers. I myself recently had work in the area and stayed for one month. This was at great value and saved me MUCH travel time into the area had I been based in the Valley and drove up the hill every morning/afternoon.

Yes, as some reviews say, the place needs a 're-fresh and re-boot'. It's my understanding that they will be remodeling starting May 2021.

Once they open again, I would definitely give this locally owned Inn your business!

Locally Owned Inn in the Sierras on Hwy 88

I had an opportunity to stay for a month at the Pioneer Inn & Suites.  The room was comfortable, with high open ceiling and two queen beds.  Having a microwave and refrigerator in the room was very convenient.  I also appreciated the bath tub which soaked away the aches after a long day of skiing.  

During the  Covid 19 restrictive times, there isn't room or maid services and the pool and spa are also closed.  Additionally, due to the same restrictions, breakfast is no longer available.  The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and the beds are very comfortable.  

The free internet is really valuable as cell service in the Pioneer area is spotty at best.

Economical choice for lengthy stays

Sadly this place is no longer the best place to stay. The owner I guess has fallen on hard times and drug addicts live here. A car was stolen from a young lady staying here. There is no longer green grass and his maintenance man how also work for the US Forest service yells the N word almost weekly. As a couple paying him 1700.00 a month we expected more from him and the staff to fire his maintenance man for this behavior during this time instead we where ask to leave after we agreed to stay 6 months.this place is now words than motel 6. Black mold is in the bath room and tolet.
