I cancelled my trip due to Covid-19. I've had to call multiple times and each time they have no record of my calls/cancellation request. I finally got my credit card company involved because it seemed sketchy and did not seem like the hotel was going to refund me (even though I cancelled well before the 30 day mark). Once the bank contacted them I finally received my first "confirmation email" for the cancellation. I waited 4 weeks for my refund. Calling the hotels “help center” (absolutely zero help from those people) every few days just for them to take down my information and tell me someone will call me back which never happened. Beyond curious if I would have ever received my refund if I didn’t get my bank involved...Seems fraudulent!

Worst Experience - Dont Book!

Upon check in (at 3pm, not earlier than specified), there was no one to be found, no one answering the number. We found someone in the laundry room who also tried to contact someone to help us unsuccessfully. The shuttle driver ultimately helped us with our bags and then contacted someone to clean our room (learning our room from us - there was no ledger or any semblance of check in or check out for that matter)
In our room, there was a used, dirty q-tip on our window seat we had to take care of ourselves 
The next day, no one came to clean our room until close to 4pm, at which point - was pointless 
Our final day, we were trying to enjoy the courtyard and a worker was chatting loudly on the phone, sitting on the hot tub which appears to be not working and not clean
Moving inside, we then discovered someone left their wig on the air conditioner in plain sight of the court yard’s public seating which is unsightly and unsanitary
We attempted to borrow a pen which seemed to be an enormous and inconvenient task - and no pen could be found in the entire house. Typically there is one per room
Finally, upon check out there was no process, no where to turn in our key etc.

Horrible. Stay far away from this hotel when visiting Nantucket!

I reserved a room at the inn on Booking.com a few weeks ago. The rules were stated that I could cancel with only a 10% fee until August 13th. I booked on August 4 and cancelled due to health reasons on August 5. The full amount was charged to my card on August 5th and I have called four times now and no reply about a refund. I'm done dealing with them and will just dispute through my CC.

Reservation canceled at last minute. I was notified by Airbnb that after a few warnings, Airbnb was forced to drop them.

Look like others have had similar experience.  Horribly  inconvenient as we had booked this months ago.

Dropped by Airbnb due to infractions 

Was there for one night and everything was horrible. Dirty, smelly rooms which they probably have been vacuumed in the early 1920s for the last time. Very hot rooms and the AC sound like a lawnmower. All in all just a bad experience.


Hirrible

My husband and I visited Nantucket for the Christmas Stroll with another couple. We chose to stay at the Summer House because we had stayed there many years ago and had a great visit.  Our friends stayed at the Roberts Collection just a block away.  When my husband and I walked to the Summer House with luggage in tow to check in we were SHOCKED to find that it was vacant. The sign was gone from the door, no one was there and the black door was unlocked. Completely vacant.  We prepaid $1400 for a three night stay and were left completely stranded on one of the busiest weekends on Nantucket.  We quickly began to look for another place to stay and finally found a room at The Nantucket Hotel. We had to contact American Express to dispute charges from Summer House. 
DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THE SUMMER HOUSE!! Scam!!

Disappointed and Stranded

I have great angst writing such a detailed (and negative) review as it is the first time I felt it was truly indicated.  So many failures of my expectations.  We arrived in the late afternoon - an envelope on a table was our "check - in" greeting. We were advised of our continental breakfast - from 8am to 10am in the Main House or Garden Patio.  There was no coffee available in the room - ever - and a special request to get coffee made before 8am was made.  The continental breakfast was a bowl of fruit and in the kitchen was a bag of 6 bagels still in the plastic bag from the local grocer.  Attached pictures. I clearly did not understand this was a bed/breakfast as opposed to an "inn" - my fault.  The room was ample size but the TV was a 19" across the room in the chest.  The curtain needed to be draped across the chest drawer to hold it open to view the TV.  We were given a letter addressed from "Teresa - Concierge" with a phone number and also an "emergency contact number".  At no time was I ever able to reach a person on either phone - VM only.  We were calling to inquire about the checkout procedure.  By the time we received a call back we were at the airport.  I must say - I would never recommend or return to this business. Housekeeping did come in daily.  Also note - there is no flexibility in their CANCELLATION POLICY.  Jetblue had engine failure and we missed our connection on CapeAir.  We notified them immediately but there was no variation in the price charged for the night.

Good location - but little else to impress me

No one to greet you....not even a sign with instructions. Staff was less than friendly and the Summer House Sconset folks just as bad. Place was not clean and in need of serious repair and upgrade, peeling paint, leaks, poor plumbing, noisy window a/c unit. The ultimate was the rat in the kitchen on our third day. Beautiful outdoor terrace hadn't been organized the whole time we were there with furniture strewn all over. In need of serious help if they want our business again, particularly at the price we paid!!
