The location and views are fantastic! Unfortunately, the staff is very unpleasant and rude! I came to check in and the woman behind the desk never looked up from her computer or stood up or even said hello. All she did was hand me a slip to fill out and let me know that I had to wait for my room. Also, it says that breakfast is included. That is not the case!! Only hot coffee is included, there is no breakfast. A late check out and she was incredibly rude to me and said it would be $100 an hour, that is not what it says online! It is my husband and i's 20th wedding anniversary and unfortunately she has been absolutely of no help and very unpleasant!  

Disappointed with the staff

I had the most amazing experience speaking with Mary at the front desk and her manager. I was having such a hard time making an adjustment to my existing reservations and they took so much time out of their day making sure I was all set for my upcoming visit. I cannot thank them enough for all of their help.

This place is gross. Everything about it was cringy. The rugs, the coffee, the bathrooms, the sofas in the room and lobby, the pool and hot tub… all of it. There was peeling paint, peeling wallpaper, funky mold and mildew smells, missing pieces of exterior trim and lattice, NO SPRINKLER SYSTEM!! Before you book $1000 per night room in the summer, check to make sure it got spruced up. Plus random people walking around and going in to storage rooms and closets. 

Steer clear

No amenities to speak of. Coffee in the lobby was fine but they only offered vending machines for anything else. Front desk felt like it was manned by volunteers. We arrived at 1:00 and a young lady came out of the office and told us it was too early to check in. Come back in an hour. The lobby/hotel was empty and she never asked our name or checked the room which was obviously ready. Room was very oddly shaped and didn’t feel clean. Just our perception. No evidence that it wasn’t. 
For $385.00!!  The most overpriced-even in this inflationary time- hotel we ever stayed in. Obviously never again.

Overpriced and poorly maintained and managed

My friends and I have stayed at this hotel several times due to a local race each year.  We have noticed a decline in the hotel over the last few years.  We were told that the increase in the price was due to upgrades in the hotel.  The room we had this year was terrible.  The balcony door had a 1/2 inch gap that allowed air to come in, or in our case the marijuana smoke from the guys in the room next to us who were smoking on their balcony.  Not to mention they were being loud all night until well past 2:30am.  We turned the heat on and there was a strong electrical smell coming from it.  The top of the microwave was so dirty.  It looked like the microwave came from the side of the road. The toilet seat was not attached, and it almost slid off the toilet when you sat down on it.  There were lightbulbs missing from the lamps in the room.  We asked for some at the front desk but were told they didn't know where they were.  The pool was locked and inaccessible, and there was a note that said the hot tub was not working.  The cleanliness of the hotel has declined, this may be due to issues with staffing.  Check in and check out was quick, easy and friendly.  I was told I would get a receipt sent to my email upon checkout.   The email I received was not a receipt, but a generic email saying thank you for your stay.  

We paid $315.00 for the room for the night.  It's a bit overpriced.  The only reason we stayed again was due to the hotel's location and its proximity to the race.   We'll be looking to stay elsewhere next year.

Disappointed with our stay

Our room had an ocean view. However hotel was extremely overpriced for its offerings. Hotel in great need of a facelift. The exterior and interior is in a state of neglect. Needs a new owner or a lot of money put into it to bring it to where it could potentially be.

Aqua Blue Hotel review

The experience with the hotel is not what you would expect for a summer getaway with your husband. $300+ dollars a night to be stressed out and upset, it is not fair. We had a series of issues as listed below.
1. Rude service on the front door from the very start.
2. No room service at all. The hotel asks guests hang a tag in the door to have the room cleaned and the towels changed. However, the trick is that they leave no tags in your room to use. The receptionist in the morning said that she would put a request in, but when you returned to the room, past 5 pm, nothing was changed in your room at all. Frustrating. Needless to say to complain with the frontdoor was a waste of time due to rudeness.
3. No communication. The phone in our room didn't work to call the frontdesk.
4. My husband and I had to share the same bath towel.
5. Dispute the price charged, if no complete service was delivered, right?

Unfortunately the experience at the Aqua Blue Hotel was not a good one for me and my family.   The hotel is extremely dated and needs a major upgrade.   The carpets are dirty and musty.  No air conditioning in the halls or on the floors.  They opened rhe window.  The light switches near the beds didn't work and maintenance was gone by 3:00 pm so it wasn't a full service hotel in my opinion.

I have heard horror stories about this hotel but unfortunately not until after our stay 

Beware of this hotel not worth the money or discontent.

Not a good hotel

Very disappointed. We were charged a premium rate for an ocean view "blue" room. It was not ocean view and the entire hotel smells like mildew from the moment you enter the lobby. It's no wonder, once I had a look at our a/c in the room. See pics 🤢 Everything in the room felt wet.

Don’t do it! I booked a partial ocean view room, but instead, I was put in a creepy room on the side of the building, street view. I was the ONLY person staying in the entire hotel, empty hotel, empty parking lot. They would not upgrade me and were rude. The room was gross and had doors to each adjunct room. I told the staff I was uncomfortable and disappointed, but they ignored me. They were mostly in the parking lot vaping. I had to charge my phone in the car because outlets didn’t work. I asked for the manager and had to leave a statement at the front desk. I was never called or contacted in any way. The bathroom was disgusting and I just decided to leave early. They would not give me a refund. My trip was one day instead of four. Great location, but the locals recommended other spots based on the terrible reputation of the hotel, owner, and staff not to mention the state of the place. First break in years, spent it on the phone with 3rd party trying to get out and driving home.
