In the midst of our journey, we stumbled upon something truly remarkable: a place that offered hardworking folks like us not just a comfy spot to lay our heads but a genuine respite from the daily grind. Picture this - plump pillows and a bed so cozy you can't help but sink into it after a long day's toil. And let me tell you, that room was as clean as a freshly scrubbed work shirt, a real testament to the folks running the joint who know the value of a well-kept space.

What makes this discovery even sweeter is that it wasn't part of the grand plan. Nope, it was one of those unexpected treasures that come your way when you least expect it. 

Those soft, fluffy pillows practically called our names, and that bed was like a welcoming embrace after hours of labor. The attention to detail, from the spotless room to the little extras they threw in, showed that the folks running the joint understand the needs of working folks like us.



Syracuse Inn was worth the stay. 

I was leery of staying here because of all the bad reviews, even though most of them were over a year ago. All the issues must have been addressed because the carpet was new and clean, the room spotless, no bugs, bed very comfortable, no weird odors-- just a nice place to stay for a night. It is a basic hotel, definitely not luxury, but still nothing at all to avoid. Front desk staff were very nice. The fridge and microwave were nice to have. It was also nice to be able to open the window. Breakfast was basic, but fine. I'd stay again.

Pleasantly surprised

this must have been a great hotel in the day but not any more.  the only good things i can say about this place is the shower was good and they let pets stay.  the carpet was old, no ac in the hallway so it was like walking in a sauna, no phone in the room only 6 channels on the tv, was hard to get to any of the plug in sockets, we had to plug in the ac in. they only had the white curtains so as soon as the sun came up you was up. the frig was not plugged in

not again

I stayed at this Inn in September 2020. My room smelled like mold and mildew. I got really really sick and ended up in the Emergency Room. I would have given them zero stars, but that's not an option. I called the Health Dept and they said they know about the problem but the Inn refuses to abide by any health codes, they just pay the fine.

Mold, mildew and other unidentified Toxins

Very frustrating! Booked on line for 52+tax=$63. Arrived  and was charged 72+tax=$85. When I questioned the initial response was, “sorry, too late. We’ve already charged” HA! Had to wait about 20 minutes to get the $18 credit. 

The hotel is clean and the room is large. And although nothing swanky it is certainly acceptable for an overnight stay while on the road traveling.  The resistance to honor amount quoted online - and for which I had an email confirming-  is NOT acceptable.

Frustrating

The pictures say it all, as a female traveling alone I was given the worst available room! When I went to the front desk to ask for a refund, my only option was to move rooms. They adjusted my room 10. at checkout.

There are both a Best Western or Holiday Inn Express just 17 miles west of Syracuse. Keep moving up the road.

After I booked the room for a trip back to Nebraska,  my friends that I visited told me about the news feature on channel 10/11 regarding mice in the rooms. I saw some good reviews,  so I thought they would have remodeled after the mouse problem was made public. 

The lobby smelled really bad when I walked in.  I asked the night manager when was the last time it was remodeled , and I got a blank stare. I repeated the question,  with the same result.  So, we left. The manager called me later and said they have cleaned,  but not remodeled. (Maybe they just haven't gotten around to cleaning the lobby yet? ) He also claimed to have no knowledge of the TV coverage about the hotel.  That seemed really really odd, even if he has only been there a short time, since apparently most of the people in  southeast Nebraska know about it.

Keep on driving

Maybe 1.5 Stars. This hotel is not the worst but it has few good points.

On the positive: The floors, carpets, and counters were clean. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The a/c works (but takes awhile). The hallways are clean. There is an elevator to the 2nd floor. Shower worked well and the bathroom was clean. Staff was friendly.

Drawbacks: We found bugs, stains, and maybe crumbs on one of our  bed sheets. (They did give us new sheets when we asked.) The room was hot when we got there and it took a long time to cool down. (Hours.) The pillows are too thick. There are lots of people smoking in non-smoking rooms. Some of the people in our group really struggled because even though they were in a non-smoking room...they could still smell it. Breakfast is low end continental breakfast. Only one person working spoke reasonable English.

In summary, I wouldn't stay here again unless there are no other options.

I guess they've done alot of work since the bad reviews because my room is clean as a whistle and the staff here are as friendly as they can be. I am here for an extended time working in the area and this place was recommended to me. I was a little cautious because of the reviews but I can tell you it doesn't match any of the bad reviews I read.

Nice clean room and great staff!

A Nebraska snowstorm convinced us to stop here last night and I was impressed. A two-star hotel on a state highway isn’t particularly fancy, but the staff was exceptionally kind and the rooms were notably clean. With breakfast included, it puts to shame many hotel chains. Thankful to have spent the night at the Syracuse Inn and Suites!
