on a 2 day stay no towels or bed making after 1st day (poor service) ...............................................

This was the worst experience I have ever had using Choice Hotels. 1. When we went to check in we were informed that our reservation had been for the previous weekend, and because we did not cancel, they had charged our card anyway.
2. While my family was made to sit in the car in 100F heat, the staff would not allow my us into even use the restroom in thier airconditioned lobby.
3. I was placed on hold for over one hour as reservations and customer service tried to sort it out. 
4. I was finally told that although I claimed to have made the reservation on the telephone line, that their records claim that i made it on-line, and that i could speak directly to the hotel manager, who they had just spoke to and who was there to help me.
5. When I again approached the night check in window, the lady said the manager had stepped out and could not be contacted, I gave her my cell an asked that he call me, knowing that he surely has a cell phone, but she refused to book us into a room unless we paid again. So, we left the hotel and went to the Marriott. 
6. A Choice Rewards reservations person graciously called my wife and offered to get us reservation for the night at that same hotel. 
7. I refuse to pay this crook twice, and demand my money be refunded as it is clear what happened, when I called on the 20th to make my reservation for the 25th, the reservations person accidently made the reservation for the 20th.
8. Unfortunatly, my call log does not allow me to go back that far,\
9. Due to the gracious attitude of the caring person who called my wife back, we booked two nights at the EconoLodge down the street, but will submit a formal complaint to Rodeway Inn for the treatment we received

This hotel must be removed from the Choice Rewards program

During a pandemic, one would think that all the stops would be pulled out to clean the rooms... I was wondering if the remote control was sanitized last night and looked to the nightstand. The previous occupant left their note behind and an uncapped pen, if housekeeping missed that, I don’t have a lot of faith in the measures taken to protect the traveler.

Clean rooms?

Spent one night at the Rodeway Inn.  Check-in was quick.  The room was clean.  The sink/vanity area was fine, but the bathroom itself - where the toilet and shower were - was bad.  The ceiling fan over the toilet was open all around the fan, and the ceiling over the shower head was falling down and moldy/gross.  I would make sure to check the room before I stayed here again.  I brought it to the attention of the desk attendant the next morning.

Okay for one night

We thought we were safe at a Rodeway Inn. What a horrible mistake. It smelled horrible, like diesel, the floors creaked like a 400 year old farmhouse, the A/C sounded like an airplane landing on the roof, the soap bars were like communion wafers, crumbling in your hand, notice the boasting of a heated pool, see the pictures.... 🤢. Trash cans filled with rotting waste, beer cans and maggots at the staircase. Electrical cords tangled like Christmas lights stored for decades. All this for a mere $200 bucks a night.... such a deal.

What a mistake

Good things: they had a fridge and a microwave. Bad things: the microwave had an old tamale sitting in it when we checked in (good match for the grounds in the coffee machine).  Booked under the impression that this was in White’s City and would be conveniently located for Carlsbad caverns (based on the information available online), but it’s no more convenient than any of the other, probably more pleasant, hotels around it in Carlsbad. Not very well cleaned, but decently comfortable. The peep hole had been wedged out, replaced by some ? plastic bag.  2 towels for 4 people, and they were crunchy (we were able to get more from the front desk.  All manageable if it were inexpensive, but it wasn’t :-(.

Not a great deal

The rooms are extremely low, and they weren't super clean now, and the price of such a room is really cheap, and I wouldn't stay here again, even if the location to the Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountain National Park is good.

Even for one night bad

Great stay. Highly recommend. Recently renovated. One of the most economical hotels in Carlsbad and the place is fairly spacious. The new bedding is updated and there’s a flat screen tv in the room. Great value

Very clean, the staff is friendly,the pool is very nice and in a great location I’d love to stay here again!! They’ll even reason with you on prices. Great place for the family to stay,near the caverns too
