Spiders and millipedes in our room. Served spoiled milk and out of date cereal bars for breakfast.  Stay away. Too many better choices in this area. The pictures of the rooms are from when they opened years ago. Will never return and definitely won't recommend. 

Call the Health Inspector 

One night stay while our power was out due to storm damage!  There was no one at the front desk to start with, this was at 5:00 PM on a Sunday evening! 
We rented the room for one night. The room was not clean nor did the TV work. 
There was no one to answer the phone at the front desk and it seemed like they really didn't care!! We ended up taking showers with our own towels and going back home to where we at least knew it was sanitary! 
I would not recommend this establishment at all!!!!!!

Worst experience ever!!!!!

Room 119,handicap. Stayed 2  nights 6/23/22 and 
6/26/22. Shower didn't work. Let staff know. When we come back the second night the shower was still broke,Stained sheets on bed and bedspread,bathroom towels old and stained. Wasn't informed the pool and hot tub were out of order. Didn't serve continental breakfast and laundy facility was out of order. At this pointb we find another motel when we travel this way every year.

Room was clean

This place was a disaster! We were staying there for a wedding weekend. The staff was unbelievably rude! No continental breakfast, pool or Pub like advertised on the website. When I arrived to my room there were dirty towels on the back of the bathroom door, toilet bowl had a brown ring like it needed to be cleaned. When I tried to turn on the tv it said no signal. When I went to the front desk I was told the maintenance guy was off for a week. It turns out my tv was missing an hdmi cord. A nice young man who was a fellow guest, brought me the one from his tv. When we complained about the hard as rock pillows and asked if they had any thinner or softer ones, the one girl turned to the other girl and said “bring your own pillow”. Obviously this hotel does not consider the customers. The staff was soooooo rude!!!! The owners of this place should be on site and give the customers what they deserve. They should also try sleeping in one of the beds with those pillows. And FYI,  numerois guests were complaining.

Tub did not drain properly

Needs new carpeting on stairs this is the main area and it was stained and dirty

Whole hotel has strange look. Hospital white with bright orange. Strange color scheme. Rooms are stark and look like carpeted hospital room.

Mattresses and pillows are overdue for replacement.



Ok for short visit to Sugarcreek

We are now staying at the Schoenbrunn Inn in New Philadlephia Ohio.  We have stayed here many times in the past but this time we got a room that is 32 paces from a busy four lane road that starts being busy at 6:30 am and it lasts till a little after 10pm.  Eighteen wheelers that have stopped at the bottom of the hill and are now heading toward the hotel are speeding up and making lots of noise. Then there are the trucks going down the hill that are using jake brakes all the time.   Once the traffic is slowed down you can hear the air conditioner buzzing and the ice machine running at the end of the hall.  We had to run on the fan in the air/heat unit to mask the irregular sounds so we could sleep.  The have no hot breakfast, the pool and the work out room are both closed. The excuse might be covid and if that was a problem I wonder why not a single member is wearing a mask.   We have two more nights here.  We have been here several times before. We are now looking at four other Choice Hotels in the area.  The room I refer to are 116 to 225.   Breakfast is in a paper bag and consists of muffin or pastry plus a cookie and a Nature Valley bar.

Noise, Noise, Noise

Check in went smooth, clerk efficient and helpful.  The place is clean, beds comfy, ac keeps it cool, linens good, bathroom had plenty of hot water and spouse loved the citrus soap. Several members of a Ford Model 'T' club utilized hotel as their base.  Interesting cars.  
Big disappointments: there was no water in the swimming pool or spa.  The breakfast is water, muffin, granola bar and juices.  For many travelers these items are "must haves" and Management should make it clear during registration that the spa, pool and hot breakfast are not available.  Other concerns our window shade would not move, broke/stuck at the half way point and the bathroom faucet needs repair/replace as it does not move freely.  There is no outdoor seating area.  I appreciate the facility is smoke free but the smokers go outside by the lobby to 'light up' and their conversations permeate the rooms in the vicinity.  We will not return to this hotel as there are a number of competitors who are just flat out superior.

Fell Short On Many Fronts

We stayed here for a friends wedding, and it was just an okay experience. The room was clean and cold which was appreciated, however the mattress was TERRIBLE. We both woke up with back pain. The staff was friendly but entirely unhelpful with pretty much everything, and the breakfast was a chocolate chip cookie, a granola bar, a muffin, and a bottle of water. Disappointed that we paid all this money for free included breakfast, and was given that in a brown paper bag. The TV did not work properly and when we tried to call the front desk no one answered. When we needed a few extra towels, no one answered, and if we had questions they almost never had answers and hearing “I don’t know.” Gets old after awhile especially when your unfamiliar with the area. Their pool was closed so that was also disappointing. And a friend who booked through a third party website didn’t get a room because the hotel was booked and their booking didn’t go through.  Overall, it seems like they need to train their staff better and simplify a few things. Probably won’t stay here again.

Just okay…

My husband and I had Schoenbrunn Conference Center booked for our reception for our wedding back in Sept 2019. We signed a contract for their on site chef and for them to provide everything from the chairs, tables, plates, utensils, etc. Without us knowing or them making us aware, they broke our contract by getting rid of their Chef and bringing in an outside catering company, which would of cost us over $2,000 more than what we signed a contract for. We were only made aware when we called to check on a price on one of the food options, only to find out the chef was no longer there and they were bringing in an outside catering company. After what it seemed like months of going  back and forth between schoenbrunn ( they had no idea who was in charge anymore since the director left, and were told different things by multiple people) and the outside catering company, because neither 2 business's knew exactly what was going on and it was a more a he said/she said ordeal.  We asked them to refund our down payment since they broke our contract. NOT ONLY WERE THEY EXTREMELY rude, but forced us to file a small claim against them. We ended up winning our case against them, and here we are, almost 6 months later and we have still yet to hear a word from them to pay us back. We have called and emailed multiple times, but yet the lady who is in charge is NEVER AVAILABLE, nor has she even got back to us. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone

Bad business in general

The Schoenbrunn Inn was comfortable and pleasant, and conveniently located, both within New Philadelphia, near a number of restaurants and the Walmart, and in relation to the much more expensive Sugar Creek. Check in was efficient and courteous, and everything in our room was fine. We slept well, but not amazingly so, and got good value for our money.
