We stayed at the Blue Hill Lodge on a Saturday night after long day of hiking. Our room was clean, quiet, and had very comfortable beds made with fresh linens that smelled wonderful. We ate dinner at the Russian Mule Brewing Company, conveniently located just steps from the Lodge. There were many delicious sandwiches and burgers to choose from as well as several brews on tap. You may even choose a tap beer to go and have it pressed into a can on the spot! Savannah, the Business Manager, was very friendly and most accommodating. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the Blue Hill Lodge again!

Wonderful Find in the Catskills

Short Summary: had an absolutely amazing time staying here!
We arrived with a pretty big group in the evening after hiking in the Catskills. We were welcomed warmly and they had our rooms all ready to go, and they worked with us as we had to move around our arrival time. We were able to order food from the restaurant at the Russian Mule Brewing Company, which is an extension of the Lodge, and it was exquisite! There was something for everyone and it was delicious! After a long day of hiking, it hit the spot :) We were also able to try a good selection of beers that were offered on tap. The lodging itself was very clean. We had 3 rooms, two of which connected, which is great if you have a big party/family. The bathroom, also very clean. On the property, there is a small river/stream that you can walk to and bunch of open space! While there is no cell phone service (which in my opinion was truly a blessing), the Blue Hill Lodge has wifi that is available. And at night, if you're lucky and the sky is clear, you can look at the stars as the light pollution is minimal. It was an amazing mini-weekend vacation, and I am hoping to definitely come back!

Amazing Weekend Getaway

My husband and I decided to spend the 4th of July weekend in the Catskills last minute. We were looking for a dog friendly property where we could still socially distance. Blue Hill was great. The staff was so helpful before our stay and very nice when we did see them in person which was minimal. We went to the brewery for dinner the first night where all protocols were followed. The cafe was not open which made it even more quiet there, and we rarely ran into any other guests. The rooms are basic, but very clean and comfortable. A note that there is nothing in the area and with things closed, plan accordingly. It was perfect for us, and we really enjoyed our stay and being able to go somewhere during all of this to escape the city a bit.

Great Socially Distant Holiday Weekend Stay!

This ever expanding lodge has a brewery/restaurant and clean, comfortable rooms. It's in the country and near several trails. A quiet, getaway....I bet it's even nicer in the other seasons.....winter hours are limited, so always check in with them before maiking any plans.

Great restaurant and helpful, attentive staff

This place was a great find! Motel rooms were cozy and super clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. There is an art gallery AND brewery on site that had great live music! The brewery had a limited but tasty menu and during the day, the cafe was open for breakfast and lunch. Overall I must say I was pleasantly surprised to find this place in an area that is largely isolated. There is no cell signal by any carrier so be prepared to "unplug" a bit but this suited us just fine. We had a great family weekend here and will DEFINITELY come back!

Sparkling Diamond in the Rough

Lovely, eclectic, well-kept property with lots of charm. My husband and I stayed a night over Labor Day weekend. Our room was spotless, and the cafe and other buildings were very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice to relax and enjoy dinner at the brewery (the Russian-style dishes were terrific!), and enjoyed the very interesting art gallery as well. We'd certainly come back to stay there again, as we like to hike the area. Truly a gem in the Catskills!

Lovely Place in the Catskills

To visit Catskills Mountain, was a surprise in my life! The biggest surprise wasn’t the city of Claryville, with the nicest cemetery I’ve visited, it sit’s near the church! Hahaha... The Blue Hill Lodge & Cafe, was even more surprising. Maybe there isn’t so many options, who cares!!! “Quality” sometimes suppresses “quantity”, and that is what this place is about! The food is amazing, and the rooms are very “cozy”! I had an amazing time, and they have “the best” sweet potatoes fries! Special thanks for Willy, Savannah and Briana! Hope to be back sometime!

The Best Place Around

This is a terrific place and right up front I want to say that there was a little mixup with my reservation which was their fault, not mine.  But my attitude is that you can tell the quality of a place/organization by the way that they handle mistakes......which is something everyone makes now and then.  Blue Hill handled their reservation mistake well and they delighted me, and that's all that counts.

The place is amazing , it's in a beautiful out-of-the-way spot.....with no cell coverage...... but they let you use their landline for free, no questions asked.  The rooms are comfortable, roomy, immaculate, and quiet.   The "cafe", which is actually a full fledged  restaurant, is excellent, although the menu is somewhat limited.  We both had a Russian dish called pelmeni which is like little raviolis or tortellinis stuffed with beef, chicken, and/or veal and served with sauteed onions, mushrooms, and sour cream.  Yum!!  The Russian beer we had with it was great.  Good service, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and next door to the rooms.....how can you lose??

The place also has a little deli, a liquor store, a post office,  and  a little grocery store.  And soon there will be an on-premises micro brewery.  If you need anything while in your room and don't want to go out they'll gladly bring it over.  How many "motels" will do that?

While we were there we saw several local folks stop in for dinner......a sure sign that the place is consistently good.  This was my third stay here and I'll be back.

You can't go wrong here!!

After spending the week sightseeing at the Catskills, our Hostess and guide suggested lunch at Blue Hill Lodge.  We called to make reservations and requested a table outside. Our table was ready when we arrived. I casually mentioned to our server that my husband and I were from Massachusetts. She must have informed the owner, who came out to greet us, served us complimentary bowls of Borscht, a cold beet root soup. We ordered the days special Chicken Pelmini , a traditional Russian dumpling  along with salad, Spaghetti Bolognese , wine in little bottles, and Russian cakes.  After a satisfying meal, the owner took us to the back where a big barn served as an Art Gallery. If we did not have to get back to NY, we would have loved to stay overnight and explore the countryside.

What a Great Place

As others have said: a surprising lovely place tucked away in the middle of beautiful countryside. Quiet surroundings, very clean (room and overall property), and fabulous staff. Property managers Savannah and William are very helpful and genuinely kind. Brianna too. It was not a busy time so all was quiet for my stay. There is a separate, beautiful hall that's available for catered events and a microbrewery in the works! I did not need to use heat or AC. Cafe and little grocery were perfect - and also serve as the check-in desk :-). There is a tiny wine shop and Post Office on the premises too. Check it out - very quaint.
