We love stay agin here. Very nice staff very friendly location was nice everything around the hotel grocery store by walking distance fast food walking distance next door very nice restaurant gas station also waking distance we recommend this place it’s very nice. 👍

We came to Owatonna to meet my family

A group of us stay here twice a year when traveling home from fishing in Canada.  This hotel needs serious maintenance.  In our room 222 the A/C did not work, the bathroom light would not turn off, the sink was cracked, the sink faucet required two hands to turn on & off and the sink stopper did not seal. The washcloths were so cheap they felt like sandpaper.  When checking in the older couple at the desk had trouble finding our reservation.  This hotel is very convenient for us and we have always enjoyed staying here but if improvements aren't made our group will be staying elsewhere.

Room 222 on September 8, 2018

A couple of issues on my stay.  Spent a week+.  One night I got to my room around 10:30 pm & saw the door was NOT pulled shut all the way!   I just used my hand v keycard, to push it open.  Housekeeping neglected to pull it shut all the way when they left.  Nothing was missing, but still.....   On a Saturday night, came back around 10:30 pm to discover there was some kind of huge party going on - they even took over the business parking lot in front of the motel. Tables, chairs, food everywhere, campers, EZ-Ups.  NO parking to had. The owner had me block in two vehicles that belonged to his family by the office.   2 am they were still there. By 6 am, you’d never know anybody had taken over the properties!  Everything was gone.  I always use ear plugs at hotels/motels.  I never heard the train whistle at night or the rumbling- but the RR tracks ARE only a few blocks away.  Likely won’t stay here again even though it had a small refrigerator & microwave that many other places don’t offer.  

Average motel, limited parking

I was looking for a cheap place to sleep on a business trip -- just passing through.  I thought I checked the reviews, but nothing prepared me for this.   It was obviously run-down.  There was broken furniture stacked outside along the front.  It's an older place that looks like a mom & pop has bought it and is trying to run it and fix it up as they go.  I tried to get connected to wi-fi, but the unsecured wi-fi router didn't have enough "bars" to actually run anything.   I called the desk and they gave me a password for the secured system.  It woked OK, but was obviously not very powerful.  I kept having connectivity problems.   My no-smoking room evidently is surrounded by several smoking rooms and filled with smoke and stayed that way as soon as those rooms began filling up.  At midnight someone began shouting and pounding on the door of the room next to mine.  They pounded and shouted for an hour.  I waited as long as I could since it sounded like the guy was trying to help a friend/family member?? with some kind of problem, while the guy inside wouldn't open the door because he was afraid he would have to share his liquor.   I couldn't take it anymore and finally called the front desk at 1 AM.   This in itself was a chore.  It took 20 minutes of dialing and redialing to get someone to answer.  That must have worked, because the pounding and shouting eventually died out and all went away.   This place was inexpensive, but was way over-priced for what it is.   Do yourself a favor.  Spend a little extra and go anywhere else.

A Dump

After a long search on a Saturday night we got a room at this little motel with some help from the young man at the Quality Inn in Lakeville.

The hotel is a little older but don't let that fool you. Rooms are large, they are kept up and very clean. Featured microwave, fridge, and flat screen tv. Awesome friendly staff. 

At $75 on a weekend this motel was a much better choice then the beat up Microtel.

Relieved find

We needed a budget-friendly place to spend a night on our way to vacation. The sheets appeared clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. Everything was very old and dated. The room smelled like mold. It was dusty and not well vacuumed, but appeared otherwise clean. I would not stay here again- $75 has bought us far better accommodations!
