My girlfriends and I had a very good time in Vichy Spring Resort . 
Beautiful area, clean and most of the time quiet.  Yes, there is the gun club  located nearby. But the noise was not constant  and did not bother  us.  
We stayed in cottage number 14 that has everything you need. The beds are  cleaned and comfortable, curtains cover the windows well at night and  protect from any outside lights. 
The baths are fun. Do not miss the Vichy beauty baths . They are not so crowded, available most of the time , and you skin will be so the skin will be so soft and glow after these baths.

Amazing, tranquil place to soak, hike, rest, and breathe.  Hits the sweet spot between overpriced, high-end fancy and bare bones.  Everything was well/maintained, clean, and comfortable.  Owners Gilbert and Marjorie are lovely.  Breakfast was good.  Short 7-min drive to town for lots of dining options.

Peaceful, affordable and beautiful

It was horrible!  Next to a gun club.  Asked for refund and the owner was supposed to call twice.  nada.  So disrespectful.  The tubs are impossible for an older person to get in and out of, so that was a non-starter.  The room has no capability to heat hot water, via electric pot or micro.
Very disappointed for the price.  Never again and hope you don't either.

Don't Go!

So…I LOVED this place. But in the month since I went I realized I had LICE!!! This place is the ONLY change I have made. I have not had lice in 20 years!!!! I am mortified!!!! They need to do a better job cleaning their linens!!!

I got LICE!!!

I have been coming to Vichy springs for almost 30 years now and have loved every visit. It is the perfect romantic getaway for couples with the perfect amount of activities to balance relaxation and staying active. My favorite things are the springs + massage + waterfall hike + dinner downtown

Perfect couples retreat!!

We stayed in a stand-alone cottage and were delighted to open our double doors to the sounds of crickets chirping in the night air and the bright stars above our heads.  We liked that the facilities were comfortable, not pretentious or fancy but had a full kitchen and seating area and the bathroom area was roomy.  

By far the most appealing part of the property is the combination of the lovely lush green shaded grounds, the refreshing cool swimming pool when needed and the perfectly warm champagne tubs that encapsulate your body in little bubbles.  To see the spot where these rich waters come streaming from miles beneath the earth - the only place in the US where you can experience this! - is amazing.  Only a handful of places in the world can give you this experience.  And then the hot tub is there too, if you need/want a warming up.  It's a small uncrowded resort with friendly staff and guests that made it feel private and welcoming. 

We went for a hike to the "waterfalls" which don't flow late summer and Fall, but are worth the walk none the less.  We saw frogs in the pond, and the walk along the creek to get there was stunning.  

Vichy Springs is like a nature preserve with dragonflies and butterflies flittering about.  It's more than a hot springs, or a resort - it's a lovely destination.  I relaxed there more than I had in years and slept like a baby.  Next time we'll stay longer for sure.

Peaceful unpretentious getaway

Just returned from this beautiful resort located just 2 hours from S.F.
I have nothing but fantastic things to say about my visit. My friend rented a cabin for us, and it was very spacious and clean. Small, but full kitchen with a mini fridge. 
The baths were incredible. The Vichy bath was like settling into cool silk on a hot day, and a dip in the naturally carbonated hot tub will pull all the tension out of your body. The historic "champagne" bath left our skin feeling amazing and our spirits light. A quick plunge in the swimming pool on a hot afternoon was the perfect way to kick off our stay.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The property host and her kids made us feel so welcome.
10/10 will be back.

A little slice of heaven

First, this is not a hot spring. Vichy Springs are cool. On a hot summer day they're okay but they never rise above skin temperature so slightly chill. The hot tub is hot but that's regular pool water.
Second, the gun club. Across the road and open morning to night every day gunfire will make you feel you've retreated to a war zone. We had to flee.
Third, high intensity porch lights. These lights are a mystery and are located outside every room and not under your control. The entire porch is lit up so brightly we hung towels over the curtains to approximate nighttime.
Lastly, there are no ceiling fans only air conditioners so you're only option during summer time is to sleep with a/c running all night. Not a peaceful country sleep.

Not for us

While a lot of resorts now trying to "meet the requirements" to claim N stars or be "competitive", this place took a different route. 

They are very unique in many ways and I think it's a good thing, but that also means it may be not a good match for everyone.

What is really good?

1. The mineral springs. They are absolutely unique. The water is about perfect temperature and it does feel like a sparkling wine. It doesn't have any bad smell and it's actually possible to drink (a standard disclaimer applies - I'm not a doctor and this is not an advice etc). A very enjoyable experience!
2. The history. The baths are from 1860s but it's been a "resort" way before. 
3. The nature. The resort owns a lot of land and they preserve better than many parks. 
4. The place feels very relaxing. They intentionally try to make sure it's not crowded.
5. Everything is very clean, good service.
6. The property is in a creek canyon, so it feels every private and isolated.

What you may not like?

1. Don't expect to have a cell coverage.
2. There is Wi-Fi but it's not fast. Not work remotely/watch videos grade.
3. No food on site. But the town is a couple miles away.
4. Depending who you ask, it may be not quiet. There are a lot of birds. Also, during the day, you might here shots from the nearby gun club. It didn't bother us, but apparently some people are more sensitive than others.
5. The large pool is not heated and the mineral water is warm but not hot (probably about 80F), so it's definitely better suited for summer days.
6. It's not cheap.

Overall, you'll definitely remember something good about this place but I'm not sure if everyone would go back.

Probably not for everyone but it it is unique and great in many ways

The location is Beautiful with lovely , well maintained grounds.  Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about local activities & restaurants.  Their cabins are private and lovely.  Short wal to either their natural hot springs or the pool.  Definitely a 5 star experience.
