You definitely don’t get what you pay for .The room had a funny smell was not very clean. Bugs on the pillows . The manager, Jacqueline was a very nasty, unprofessional person. Talked to us like we were children. There was  never a front desk person at the counter. There was a loud wedding party there that kept us up all night . Wont ever come back here. Don’t waste your money. There are plenty of hotels in Port Clinton that are way better.

Dont bother

This place could be decent with some attention. Walls have marks all over them. Floors were so dirty, my feet covered with sand and dirt when I tried to walk barefoot. And I know sand and dirt not from us because we had not even walked in the sand. Door seemed to have a gap and not shut tight. When it rained the floor seemed a bit wet near there. Jacuzzi/shower was very big and nice. Bed seemed clean and pretty comfortable. A good cleaning would do this place wonders, wash the walls and the floor and I would give it another star. Nice that it is on the water and the deck overlooking the water is very nice. Glad no parties in the party area  the night we stayed or I think sleeping would have been impossible. Same price as a nice chain hotel so it was way overpriced for the cleanliness issues. Chairs at the table were really dirty too.

Needs improvements

The views are absolutely gorgeous, especially early morning and at sunset! The room itself was cute but definitely need to pay close attention to cleaning. The bathroom was pretty dirty, stains on one of the towels.along with the mini fridge. The walls had weird stains on them as well outside of the bathroom. The coffee pot was very dirty so I had to run to McDonald’s the couple mornings we were there.
The staff was very very friendly, possibly would stay again. 
Just the details of cleaning would be big in my decision of staying again because of the cleanliness. 

Beautiful view but needs attention to rooms

Amazing staff very friendly and the rep went out of the way for us with TUI her name was Vinda we had an issue with our room the first night and the staff did everything they could to solve the issue me and the girlfriend were I’ll recommend to all our friends and family

Hell of an experience

After reading some of the negative comments here, we almost cancelled our reservation - and we are so glad we didn't! 
     We are guessing that the motel has new management or that it was able to upgrade with Covid-era financing. Our room was very clean, and the exterior of the hotel was bright and pretty. You don't get the level of service that you would expect at a more expensive hotel (such as free continental breakfast, room service, etc.) but you get all you need and then some - wifi, the little soaps, a coffee-maker, etc. - plus a tub/shower that was not cramped, two sinks, beach access, and a precious view from a modest beachfront motel. 
     There are two restaurants within an easy walk and our dinner at Dock's Beach House was terrific. We stayed during a weekday, so I imagine it could get noisy on weekends, especially if there is a wedding, but that's just part of the fun. One caution: if you are not able-bodied, don't stay on the second floor as access is by outdoor stairs.

Coffee pot was full of coffee and grounds.  Room was not clean by any means. Had to ask for extra roll of tp. Would not recommend. Was a beautiful view though!  Need to pay closer attention to cleaning staff

Disappointed

Keep Looking!! This place is bug invested. There were dead bugs smashed all over the inside walls of my room. (and of course the live ones were there too! The floors were so sticky I couldn't remove my shoes. The bed sheets obviously were not changed from the previous guest because of how they were wrinkled and all askew. And there were brown stains on them--when I discovered this the office was already closed at 5:00 so I had to sleep on top my housecoat!. My son's room had the previous guests dirty towels throw up on the shelf. The crud was so thick on the mirror that I wrote them a little message in it.

Most filthy place I ever stayed!

We went to check in. The hotel still uses keys and is very outdated. The manager was very rude and had no business etiquette at all.  The rooms were not very clean. The door was really dirty, the tv remotes had either no backs or duct taped backs. We cleaned our room with Lysol, and Clorox wipes and the counters were dirty. The floor makes your feet black. The walls are super thin and you can hear people talking all through the night. There is no management on site during the night if you need something. The beach was dirty, trash and cigaret butts. The lights in the bathroom are dingy and when you turn them on, a heater kicks on. I cleaned spider webs off of the lamp shades. And the air conditioning looks like it has never been dusted or cleaned. There is thick dust on the vent. I really didn’t want to stay here but there was really nothing else available.  The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of the beach, it may be dirty, but at night it’s pretty. That’s about the only good thing this place has to offer. Unfortunately there is now a wedding tomorrow so beach access is limited and over half the private beach is blocked off for the wedding.  I will never stay here again, and wish I could have found something  else.  This is NOT worth what they charge a night. They play heavy on the beach, but really all you have to do is eat at the dock house and you can use the beach… you do not have to stay here.  2 nights at 450 dollars and it’s a joke. We came here from kalahari and paid about the same per night and kalahari was SO much nicer, we should have just stayed there the extra nights. Also make sure you look at the confirmation email. It shows they charge you one nights stay and that you owe the difference at check out,  they do NOT it’s only a pre authorization.  We were confused because it said we owed one thing and then we’re told something different upon arrival and the manager was very rude and snotty about it. Do not waste your money at this place, it’s not worth it.

find something else!!

Firstly, All the rooms face wedding receptions, so it'll be loud until 11pm. Front desk says they are every weekend. The beach area is tiny, so if someone reserved it you are out of luck. Your view on the beach is a power plant smokestack. We didn't want to hear a dj blasting music for three More hours so we left and didn't stay the night. Not acceptable.

Not relaxing

Right on the lake. Very Relaxing!!! Great Wedding Venue! Located within walking distance of Ferry to Put In Bay...!!! The only disadvantage was if you are out at night, this place is not well lit at all so take a flashlight
