Great Place, Read Description on Beds

Group of us 4 guys went bass fishing to Lake Fork in April. We stayed at the Lakehouse, which is a fully furnished rental house. The home was perfect; clean and updated. Only complaint was the Dish satellite TV had terrible reception. This house met our needs in every way. We also purchased 2 boat slips and made a few purchases at the main office/tackle shop. Everyone was extremely helpful , the tackle shop has pretty much any tackle you need for bass fishing. We all agreed that we would stay here again without a doubt.

Lakehouse fishing trip

Last minute day trip. We went looking for a new place to fish and ended up here. About 1 1/2 away from Dallas. This place had everything from the very basics bait shop, clean restrooms, friendly service, a place to stay, and a little restaurant. So basically everything you need in one spot. They have a catch and release pond which was fantastic for the kids. The kids had a blast as did the adults. Oh yeah you can also camp here. Looking for a day at the lake, some fishing, and a gone but not to far gone place for a day, this is it. Enjoy.

Great day trip

My husband I spent the day shopping in Canton at First Monday trade days and wanted a room for the night close by but with a view and fishing. This could not be more perfect! The rooms have been recently remodeled and were immaculate! Our room faced the lake and we fished off the boat slips as well as along the bank and pier. The marina had plenty of tackle including my husbands shyster spinner he had been looking for. There is a full service restaurant that was open when we arrived and open when we were leaving at 630 am. We didn’t catch any fish but we had a great time! There were two queen beds a small table. Mini frig.  No microwave and no hairdryer no coffee pot but that was just fine with us.

Upon pulling into Marina, it appeared  busy with boats everywhere, there was a large tournament the day we arrived though.After parking and checking in, the touney boats were gone soon and it wasn't as busy. Our room was GREAT! We stayed in room 32 at the motel on location. It was nice & quiet in the evening with people walking around the marina to the on site restaurant and varying locations. We ate at the on site restaurant, Tiffany's for dinner & breakfast. Both times was excellent. The store was awesome too! They had anything you forgot & things you want to take back home extra! They have more tackle than the tackle shops lol. We will be back! oh...LADIES THERE IS NO BLOW DRYER!

QUICK GETAWAY

I'm used to traveling for business in more populous areas with better accommodations.  I really should not expect that in fishing areas.  That's my issues so that is why I qualified my headline.  For Lake Fork, you are in the middle of everything.  Cafe on the property has good food. Great shop for tackle and supplies.

It's fine for a fishing stay

Stayed at this establishment for the first time while fishing at Lake Fork.  Not too many places to stay in the surrounding area, so this place was recommended by our guide who stayed nearby in a residential area.  Out in the middle of nowhere, when you arrive, first impressions are not all that good.  The place was started 35 years ago by the founding family and is now run by second generation.  The buildings look old and used hard with little to no outside appeal.  Fishing boats and pick-up trucks crowd the entire parking lot.  This is a “fishing camp” not a resort.  If your expecting a 4 star hotel with luxurious accommodations, you’ve got the wrong place.
What you do have is very adequate accommodations if you’re there to fish.  Decent beds, clean hot showers, good A/C, Cable TV, mini fridge, small table with some chairs.  Comfortable, clean and a good value for the price.  
The checkin/bait house/ coffee shop has everything you need for your day on the lake.  Large cup of coffee, $.10, with all the refills you care to have.  The hospitality of all who work here is refreshing and much appreciated.  
This place was a real surprise, the longer you stay, the more it grows on your.  Toward the end of our stay, I found myself saying, “I could live here.”  I asked one of the ladies at the bait house, “Is this real, or is it an illusion?”  She just laughted and said, Oh, it’s real and that’s why all of us have worked here for a long time.
This is a place I will return to in the Spring or Fall when the weather and the water cools.  Great fishing, great scenery, great people.

Rustic but Nice

this is adequate for a fishing day or weekend . clean rooms, helpful staff at office/marina store ...and a restaurant right on premises open early for those going out for fishing in the morning.   overall nothing fancy but that is expectation

get 'er done

The rooms are ok, nice loation facing lake and boat slips. The problem is lack of acceptable staff. We have stayed here several times, but not anymore. 

We stayed there a month or so ago. My husband went out fishing early and I get a rare opportunity to sleep in. The maids started trying to come in at 9:00am. After they woke me up, they lingered outside and made lots of racket. We did not complain. 

Today, the exact same scenario. The DO NOT DISTURB sign was on the door. Our truck with empty  boat trailer in front of the room and yet they come in and wake me once again. When I went out to confront them for coming in, they of course spoke broken English and indicated they thought the sign was green instead of red. REALLY???? I slamed the door and they laughed it up outside my window.

I went to the office to complain. Not even an apology. She looked at me like a deer in headlights and asked my room number. That is it. Total lack of customer service.

A pretty nice place, if the maids would stay out of your room!

We came from Greece, because friends told us about fishing here! We do a lot of fishing in Greece, but, hey... here is the heaven for sure!!
As for the motel: Great place, super clean rooms and comfortable, friendly staff. VFM at its best!
We hope visit you again!
