I loved this motel. Like it's name says, it's older but it's really well maintained and the rooms are comfortable and give the feel of being ensconced in someone's home. When the owner, who also tends the front desk, welcomes you, it's like being welcomed into her home. It's clear the owners take great care  in providing a comfortable, pleasant, and relaxing  staying experience. Maid service was excellent as well, and optional; you could choose by day whether you wanted the service before the morning of. 

Rustic and Comfortable

I have stayed at 5 star resorts around the world.  Nothing comes close to the friendly home town feel of the Rustic Motel.  I have stayed here many times starting back in 1980 when I was in school at UMR/MSM!  I do wish the pool was still open, but that is only for a few months a year anyway!  Excellent menu options next door at Sonic (one of my all time favorite places) & 2nd best option in town since Zeno's closed (Maid Rite is a must visit also!) Thanks again for keeping this place top notch all these years!  Can't wait for my next visit.

Best Hotel in all of Missouri!

I visited Rolla in December 2016, to leave my son at the S&T University, we spent a week there, the treatment given by the property managers, was wonderful, they treated us as if we were their family, the place was very clean and practical, almost everything, the price fair enough, they helped us solve a situation, we are very grateful to them.

Good personal treatment.

The hotel is easy to find, right on the highway. It's old and could stand some major updating but was clean. The owners' son was the host and could not have been friendlier. Very basic accommodations. For their sake, I hope they do the necessary work.

Friendly Staff

I am in the medical field and travel for my job. I had to take call one night of the week during my assignment and chose to stay at this charming motel. I absolutely loved staying there! The owners are very nice, and my dog loved it there too! The only problem I had an issue with was people smoking. I am not a smoker and cannot stand to be around smoke. When a smoker was in another room the smell would permeate into my room. But I would definitely stay there again.

Very friendly!

Not every hotel allows smoking any more.  This hotel has smoking and non-smoking rooms.  We were most grateful to have a decent affordable place that allowed our pets to stay ($10 each) and smoke. The bed was great, had a frig, next door to Sonic Burger, and friendly staff.   TV good, had everything we wanted.  Would stay here again.

It had what we needed.  Warm friendly host, allowed pets, could smoke in the room.

My husband and I stayed at this motel for one night as we passed through Rolla. The bed was as comfortable as beds in the high prices hotels. We slept very well. The room was updated and nicely decorated, very clean. All the usual amenities were available, with the exception of a hair dryer. Coffee was available in the office and was very good. The management was very nice. We will stay here again the next time we pass through.

Great inexpensive motel

We stayed here over night for a trip to Fugitive Beach. The owners were extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were very nicely decorated, clean and smelled great.  The beds and pillows were more comfortable than higher end places I’ve stayed. Don’t expect a 5 star hotel, but expect to be treated well and have a safe and comfortable stay. 

Great value!

I recently stayed here on a Wednesday night.  I was driving back to Arizona and it was a very cold night.  I stayed here because of the reviews and because I like family-owned hotels.  I was welcomed by a very friendly and hospitable older gentleman, who was also behind the desk the next morning when I departed.

I was traveling by myself but the only room available was a double bed in room 224.  The bed by the window was comfortable and I slept well.  There was little traffic noise from US63. Wifi was no problem to check into, but I never could figure out how to use the TV.  I like falling asleep to cable news, but I forfeited it this night.

I liked the decor in the room.  It was clean, but smelled like a former guest had smoked in it and the staff had to disinfect the stink with air freshner.  The floor didn't feel level as I walked to and from the bathroom.  Neither are mission stoppers for me, as I feel the rate was decent.

The location of this hotel is convenient to the national forest on the south side of Rolla.  Access to the highway is also easy.  The next morning I got up early, chatted with the owner and left with a hot cup of coffee.  I would stop by here again on my next drive back to Chicagoland.

A comfortable stay

Stayed for two nights in this charming motel - s much more characterful than most of the chains. Really friendly owner greeted us, chatted and answered questions about the area, gave us a map.  Room had all the facilities you could need and was spotlessly clean. Motel is well located, just a short drive into the centre of Rolla and with nice walks in the nearby park and trails in the Mark Twain National park just ten miles down the road.  Would definitely stay here again.
