Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I don’t typically leave reviews, but fair warning, just go to a different hotel.

There are many things to share that are negative regarding the condition of the hotel (horrible condition). The thing I’ll mention is, when I returned for the second night of our stay, Omar the manager accused me of smoking in the room and also lying about the number of towels in the room and refused to allow me back into my room. When I checked in the first night, checkin was such a hassle that when I finally got into the room and discovered someone had previously smoked in the bathroom, I chose to deal with it and not go back down to ask for another room. I shut the bathroom door so I didn’t smell it. I had also already heard they were sold out so I figured it wouldn’t help to ask. Scale of 1-10, the smell was about a 4 out of 10. I also noticed there were no towels in the bathroom so I asked the front desk to provide towels while I was out that first evening. Omar was absolutely persistent that I lied about there not being towels in the room and suggested that I did something shady because there were somehow 4 towels in the room. I told him I don’t have the gift of multiplying towels and I’m not sure what the issue was. He seemed more agitated about the towels than the cigarette smell.

All in all, they wouldn’t allow me back to the room, they refunded the second night, and didn’t charge anything for the alleged smell. True story..I have literally never smoked a day in my life. Lesson learned, if you ever even suspect your room has been smoked in, demand front desk give you a new room.

Bizarre, frustrating, inconvenient, and honestly a waste of my time because they didn’t want to hear what I had to say. By the way, the hotel is in such bad shape, it really shouldn’t be open. **Bring slippers to walk on their carpet**Bring crocs to shower in**

Convenient location to the interstate and in honor of being totally thorough and truthful, the bed was pretty dang comfortable. 

Worst Hotel Experience I’ve Ever Had - Seriously

I made reservations here based on overall positive reviews. I've stayed in places that were maybe doing some remodeling. This was another story. Our google maps got us here, there were only 2 cars parked, no signage, building completely surrounded by building materials, dumpsters, scaffolding...We very hesitantly walked through all the piles of building debris and materials into a dark, empty front desk/lobby area. Two friendly employees were there. As we were trying to take it all in, I could see down the level one corridor it was uninhabitable, piles of building materials all down the hallway. We requested to view the room. One of the front desk employees politely took us up on an elevator that jolted in very unnerving ways. I hoped it would open up onto a floor that perhaps was "remodeled" as I had been told. The floor in no way appeared "remodeled" to me, we were shown a room with worn furniture and poor lighting. We decided to not stay. I was SO glad I had not done that pay ahead business for a discount that they offer. Positives, polite front desk people and they canceled without charging us a dime (as they should have, because of lack of disclosure about the true nature of this place). I have a hard time believing that they can have people staying there at the level of remodel I viewed. I wish I had taken pictures. It was a major inconvenience because after driving all day and thinking I had a reservation...I had to find a place to stay at 9 pm and places were packed due to football season. I travel a lot and am startled that a place would not disclose the condition of this place.

This hotel is infested with cockroaches. We saw several. One crawled across my neck as I was sleeping, and then when we switched rooms due to said cockroach, we immediately saw several more. The staff was very kind and understanding, but please do not stay here. It is traumatizing!

Other than the roaches, everything was fine, but that's a killer in my opinion. The staff was friendly, and efficient and the breakfast was fine. The room was well appointed and looked fine, but there is no excuse for roaches, There were adult and babies, so they have been there long enough to breed. I could understand one making it in in a bag, but not this.

We absolutely loved Country Inn and Suites in Ruston. Checkin was a breeze, the young man at the front desk (Christian was his name I think), was so polite and kind. Our room was spotless. It was pet friendly with a very reasonable $25 fee. The breakfast area was so nice, and had eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy, as well as regular continental type items. A sweet, friendly woman kept it fully stocked and there was even a beautiful Christmas tree and decorated fireplace! We felt very safe here, and the parking lot was well lit. We never heard anything in the adjoining rooms. I would absolutely return! Kudos to the staff!

Excellent stay!

Booked a room for this weekend.  Had an email this morning that our room was cancelled - arrival is tomorrow.   No phone call!!   When I called they said they overbooked by 15 rooms so just sent out email cancellations.  We have been displaced due to hurricane.   Incredibly disappointed on how this was handled.  It was our first time using this hotel chain.  I can guarantee I will never used them in the future.   A call with options would have been nice. Common courtesy.

One night stay, seamless experience at check in and check out. Front desk lady was outstanding as we dealt with her several times during our brief stay. Room was comfortably sized and had all the expected amenities. Usually have only a few "musts" during a hotel stay, comfortable bed, clean room, and hot water with good pressure in the shower. Hotel checked all the boxes in these areas, and if I had to nit pick one thing, would have liked to have seen more thickness in the bath towels and bed pillows. Our front desk lady friend got us a breakfast grab and go bag at check out. Not a luxury hotel, but very solid choice for any seasoned traveler.

Quality Accommodations At A Great Price

Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. The person working front desk had to leave because of an emergency and whomever they had at the desk was a *hit show!! The room wasn’t bad but the noise level from outside is crazy. It literally sounds like the windows are wide open or you’re camping outside next to a noisy highway. Will definitely NEVER stay here again.. The shower water handle is broken. I can’t believe they don’t already know this.. I’m sure previous people who stayed in the room, shared this info. I don’t dare call or go down to tell them. I don’t want to confuse the confused or have her have to deal with anything else since she’s not the person that normally works the front desk. It’s also a law suit waiting to happen, I almost burned myself because the water nozzle doesn’t actually do what it’s supposed to do. It just stays at one temp until you can somehow jiggle the thing enough to confuse it.. lol a freaking mess!!

I asked for a room not near the highway but I can see the highway from the windows and it honestly sounds like the trucks are driving right through our room. The lighting is fluorescent and bright and, along with the pale grey decor, makes the room look barren and stark. I unplugged the refrigerator b/c the high pitched sound emitted was unnerving. There's no coffee in the room, as I have come to expect from every hotel I've been to in the past few years. Only 2 flimsy pillows per bed, and the towels are small and pathetic. Due to Covid the breakfast is just a bag to go, whereas other hotels on my cross country trip have safely handled breakfasts with more nutritious foods. The hallway is dim and smells terribly of smoke. The parking lot is dark and made me feel unsafe, and weirdly enough the sign to the drive down to the hotel is actually at an abandoned building which is very confusing and made the actual hotel hard to find in the night. And, the entrance to the hotel is absolutely freezing, there's no lobby, and the whole place feels abandoned, dark, and very uninviting. I regret that I had already paid for the room on Hotels.com or I would have turned around and found someplace else. I definitely won't be staying at a Country Inn & Suites by Radisson again!

Could have done much better. Cleanliness declined due to COVID service. The response in emergency situation can seriously improve . Employee business must never be as done in the presence of customers
