Stayed here in August and now October. Nice to stay at a place that maintains itself. Comfortable clean rooms and a heated pool with a great hot-tub. Much needed for weary OLD bones after a day riding motorcycles over the hills and through the woods. Now if you only had an Asian masseuse! 

Well maintained

We almost stayed at the Holiday Inn but were really glad we picked the Cedarberry Inn! I was traveling with my 94 year old mother and my sister and we were able to stay in the handicapped room which was perfect for Mom! The room was very clean and had nice sheets and towels.  The pool and hot tub were really nice and we enjoyed both.  Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very nice.  Sauk City was such a cute town and we were able to find a good Mexican restaurant.  Great stay!

A great find!

This was the warmest pool I have been in in a long time.  Nice big pool.  5 or 6 feet deep but large in size.  Neat shower at the end to rinse before and after.  Hot tub was nice too.  Breakfast was alright.  Standard.  We got plenty to keep us full.  Room was a good size.  We walked over to Pizza Hut and got a snack.  Nice to have that close.

Stayed there night before hospital visit.  Had a handicap room, walk in shower.  Grab bars by toilet and in shower.  Very clean.  Beautiful looking pool.  Would definitely stay there again.  Helpful at check in.

Great place to stay

We had two recent stays bec of family obligations in the area.  Why this place?  It's the only hotel in town, which is not much of a recommendation.  The stuff lobby is "decorated" with stuffed, dead animals and a taxidermist promotion is on the wall.  Who needs to be greeted by that??  The pool and jacuzzi seemed to be the "home" of unwashed travelers, with no indication that the standard "shower first" was honored, and who wants to swim in a germy Petri Dish, really?  The TV didn't work because, as the manager told us, "the housekeeper must have jiggled the cables."  Even though our room was shown with a refrigerator, the front desk person said that having a 'fridge was "subject to availability" and if they could find one for us, the room rate would be an additional $5 per night. How cheap-o is that?  The towels are thin and threadbare and absord nothing and I found mouse droppings in our bathroom.  Both times we stayed (in different rooms) the bathroom light and fan are on one, single switch, so in order to have light in the bathroom, you must listen to the tortuously loud fan, which is old and cheap and in need of maintenance is about as loud as an electric drill, but at least a few decibels lower than a chain saw (but not much). 8 of us went to bike in Sauk City.  This inn was very accommodating for us.  They allowed us to put our bikes in a conference room overnight near the parking lot.  3 of us reserved a suite which had a king bed in the bedroom.  A Murphy bed in one end of the living room and a sofa bed.  There was also a large rectangle dining table that sat 8 which worked out great for our evening talks. We had the only refrigerator for the whole group - who stayed in  2 bed rooms.   The front desk staff gave us suggestions for eating places.  The pool area was nice.

The hotel was clean and quiet, but becoming shabby. The front desk personnel were knowledgeable and were able to adjust the TV so that it worked.
The towels are threadbare, thin to the point of being able to see through them and after showering did NOT absorb water. 
It is time to replace!

We have four boys, ages 3-12, and out of the 5 different hotels we stayed at during our trip, this was, by far, their favorite. 
We stayed in, I am assuming, their largest suite, which had a very large living room area with a pull out sofa and a murphy bed.  It had a separate bedroom with a king bed, as well as a large bathroom with a separate vanity area that you can close off from the toilet/shower room, which is a nice convenience. There was also a small kitchenette with a large, 8-person dining table that we used for computers and games. My boys also enjoyed the large pool. 
Even though the furniture was a little old and outdated (for example, the tv stand had built-in VHS storage, which my husband and I found amusing), the bedding and bathroom were very clean, which for me, is the main point. Also, we had a very quiet sleep, which is also a plus.  
Again, the room decor could be considered a little outdated, but my boys liked the wallpaper (farms, trees, primitive themes), and I personally found it charming. Because of Covid, the breakfast was pre-packaged, but again, my boys didn't have any problem with that (my husband and I skipped their offerings). 
Overall, we agreed that our stay at the Cedarberry was very pleasant, and if/when we are in the area again, it will be our first choice for lodging.

Spacious room for our family of 6

We are frequent visitors to the hotel and over the last few years it seems to have gone downhill. For the price of the rooms they could be upgraded. The furniture in the two room suites are falling apart, the chairs are coming apart at the bottom. The pool is amazing and kept up fairly well. The front desk staff is fairly friendly except a woman named Tiffany, she is rude and unfriendly and unprofessional. Management seems to do nothing about it either, starting to think we need to find a new place to go. 

Sliding downhill

We stayed here for one night, in order to visit Devil’s Lake State Park. This was my first hotel stay since the pandemic began, so was my first time seeing how hotels are doing business differently.

This is a well-run, competent small town hotel. Everything seemed to be clean and well maintained. 

Our TV didn’t work. The front desk clerk tried to fix it for a while, but was unable to, so she moved us to another room. We were fine with changing rooms, and it didn’t affect quality of our stay.

Everything here is average or slightly-above average. It’s similar to a mid-priced chain, and a step up from something like Motel 6 or Days Inn. If you have reasonable expectations, everything will be fine.

Breakfast these days is a “grab and go,” meaning you place cold items into a brown paper bag and either eat in your room or take with you. I assume this is what most “free breakfast” hotels are doing. It was not very enjoyable, but is likely the best option at the moment.

This is not a “destination” hotel; you stay here because you have business in town or are visiting family, or (like us) going to a local site. It’s about 15-20 minutes to Baraboo and probably 35-40 minutes from the Dells. 

Cedarberry is a perfectly fine small town hotel, and they appear to be trying hard. I recommend it.
