My wife and I (both are 80-somethings) decided on a day trip to Twin Falls.  Walked to Marsh Fork Falls (the water was really running well since we had a goodly amount of rain) and did the Twin Oaks trail.  Had an excellent lunch of turkey sandwiches with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and gravy.  Up to this point, it was an excellent visit.  Thought we'd finish our day with a visit to the Pioneer Farm.  What a letdown!  No animals in sight except for a dog on the house porch.  Guy on the porch did not move -- just sat in his chair.  The "Farm" is just a good-sized garden.  None of the stated ducks, sheep, potbellied pigs, donkey, pony, or Icelandic horse were visible.  The grass was so high in the meadow area that I doubt that there are resident sheep anymore.  So.....the Pioneer Farm was a dud!  Otherwise, quite a nice visit!
On several other occasions I have played golf there.  It is a pretty nice course with a variety of challenges.  The new club house is attractive, but lacks any of the expected merchandise one would think would be available at a "resort" golf course.  And no storage building for the golf carts?   What's up with that????

Hidden Gem in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia

We have stayed here multiple times and have never been disappointed.  The staff is wonderful, always so friendly and helpful.  The golf is great especially off season when there are less people and more deer. After a day of golf relaxing in the pool and hot tub is a must.  It is just an amazing place worth visiting even if you are not a golfer. 

Best Golf vacation ever!

If you are staying in the cottages at Twin Falls Resort State Park you shouldn’t think of it as a resort. Although the cottages are nicely situated in the woods, there are some issues with them. Below are the pros and cons.
Pros- The inside is clean. 
The beds are comfortable. You get a sheet and bedspread. A blanket would be good so in chilly weather you can open the windows.
Each room has its own heating/cooling system.
The forests in the park are quite nice and there is a good trail system.
The cottage complex is quiet and there are no street lights to ruin the night. Even though the cottages are close to each other, they are positioned such that they are private.
The internet is good.
There are nice large front and back porches. The picnic tables are on the front porches and there is very little if any deck furniture.
Check in/out went smoothly.
Cons- The last 3 cottages we’ve stayed in have had problems with the lighting. Cottage 3, a 3 bedroom cottage had lamps that didn’t work in 2 of the 3 bedrooms and the kitchen light was like a strobe light and not usable. In cabin 13 and 2 (2 bedroom cottages) one bedroom lamp was broken in each of them, not just a burned out bulb. And in all the cottages the kitchen lights have been poor.
The TV is in the upper corner of the living room/kitchen and is very uncomfortable to watch it for more than a few minutes. This might not be an issue for most. Who comes here to watch TV?
The silverware is poor to say the least. They are minimal and seems like they were cast offs from the thrift store. The dishes were fine, the pots and pans minimal. If you plan on cooking at the cottages, bring your cutlery and frying pans.
The outsides of the doors are quite dirty and really need a coat of paint.
Some cottages have outdoor chairs but not all. Bring your own. 
Bottom line- this would be an ok place to stay knowing the limitations but the price is definitely not in line with what you get. 


Nice woods and trails but cottages need a bit of care

Nice area. Beautiful country setting. The main building was immaculate. Very impressive. The cabin we stayed in, not so much! We stayed in cabin #5. It's been a long time since this unit has had a deep cleaning. Couch and chair was disgusting. The second bedroom's comforters were nasty. Really could be a nice place!

Anniversary weekend.

We ended up here on a stop between where we we’re headed. It was an hour out of the way but we didn’t mind. The restaurant on-site was good we had dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was a great deal! $2 for a biscuit sandwich.  The hike to the falls was easy but really there’s only one water fall.   The room however was a little dingy, had a musty smell and was tiny.  The beds were clean, tiny bathroom, we had a back patio but the slider didn’t have a lock on it.  Room had a mini fridge and coffee makers. For one night it was fine but I would probably suggest the cabins instead. Definitely wear your shoes in the pool area.

Detour trip

Beautiful resort!  Staff were all nice and helpful. The common areas and rooms were all very clean. We did have breakfast, it was take out only at the time, however very good. We only got to stay for one night, would love to come back for longer!!

Beautiful!

We stayed in cabin #1 for the weekend and really enjoyed ourselves.  It was very late in the season, so the Park was relatively empty but overall very enjoyable.  
Cons (and I’m reaching a bit here): 1.) A directional sign needs to be placed in BOTH directions directing folks to the cabins. 2.) The hemlock point trail needs some chainsaw work. There were at least half a dozen or more trees or large limbs down across the trail. Some looked to have been there for months, if not years. It gave the impression of being neglected. 3.) The cabin smelled slightly of cigarette smoke and a mild undertone of mold. 4.) Several directional signs (arrows) for trials, specifically Hemlock Point trail to the two falls had rotten away and fallen over - additionally there was one point where the trail splits and the map showed that we had to go to the left to cross a ford in the river to find the falls, but there were a complete lack of blue diamonds to guide you through the ford. 5.) The smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector had expired batteries in the cabin, but to our luck they were installed backwards and once flipped to the correct polarity, they worked!  6.) We had a mouse visit our kitchen counter at night, but that’s what happens when smack dab in the middle of the woods! 
Pros: 1.) Beautiful hiking and scenery.  Hemlock point trail from the RV campground was a long, but beautiful hike - the falls were very pretty. 2.) There must be a half dozen or so nice playgrounds in the Park - one is huge and was prefect for the kids. 3.) You can tell the Park has recently infused a lot of money into the cabins.  They were built in the 70s, but have been recently nicely updated with brand new appliances, beds, room heaters,
and window shades.  The front and rear decks were spacious and brand new. 
3.) The check in staff at the lodge were super friendly.
4.) Overall, a gem of a Park, we’d like to come back someday!



Very nice park, nice cabins and a perfect getaway 

This place was nice and clean, staff was super friendly. The only downfall was that we had to trailer out can am to the trail head which took about 15-20 minutes. Due to covid they wouldn’t go into your room but if you wanted clean sheets they set them outside the door for you. The place was set back off the main road so it was a pretty drive into it

Can am trail riding trip

We visited Twin Falls for a day hike with our dog.  The Twin Falls refers to Black Fork Falls and Marsh Fork Falls, there is no "Twin Falls".  And the two waterfalls are about a half-mile apart so not really twins.  But they're both nice waterfalls and its an easy hike to see them both.  We also hiked Cliffside Trail to the view points of Cabin Creek Gorge.  There is also a pioneer farm with crops and livestock.  The donkeys seemed very interested in our dog, they ran up to the fence and sniffed each other for a while.

Beautiful Park

If you're looking for scenery, seclusion and tranquility in a clean, comfortable cabin, this place is for you.  We stayed in 2 bedroom cabin, had a huge deck that backed up to woods, comfortable beds, updated kitchen appliances and very clean.  Staff very friendly.
