Budget Host is a well run establishment. Marsha and Tony go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and appreciated. The cleaning staff is quick to attend to any and all housekeeping requests, and the rooms are spotless, and well cared for. Tony and Marsha's "Coffee Room" is complete with a toaster, two microwaves, toaster oven, ice machine, vending machine, as well as paper plates, napkins and the utensils needed re-heating, or make supper on site. They have an outdoor gas grill available, and picknic tables located under a large canopy (during the summer months) so guests can grab a steak from the local market, and grill it up even in the rain (or sometimes snow:( 
It didn't take long before I grew to consider Marsha and Tony friends, as they have been, and continue to be very kind during my extended stay.

Room was super  clean but very dated.  The beds were really comfortable.  The bathroom was incredibly small with no counter space at all.  Not that we watched a lot of it, but the TV was pretty small and quite a distance from the furthest bed.  The rate was cheap, so not surprised that everything wasn't shiny and new.  Best part - beds and cleanliness.  Worst part - nasty looking drop ceiling and really super small bathroom.

What you would expect for the money. 

We got a room for one night to attend a concert. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the water got hot very quickly to shower in the morning. The man at the desk when I checked in was very polite and helpful. When we were leaving in the morning we had gotten a light dusting of snow and he was kind enough to clean our car off while we were packing it up. All in all it was a great experience. 

One night stay

I am usually hesitant on a small ma and pa hotel but decided to give this hotel a chance due to the good reviews. This is the cleanest motel I have stayed in.. this is the reason I am hesitant due to past experiences. This hotel was cleaner then some of the big chains I have stayed at. Bed was comfortable!  The staff were all very friendly  and gave great recommendations for breakfast and dinner.

24 hour coffee, hot chocolate and a vending machine with snacks at a very reasonable price. A bag of Popcorn I believe was $1.00 and a microwave is available to pop it. Toaster and Paper plates available if needed along with some other basic necessities but we didn't need them so I can't remember all of it. 

If we travel back to the area we will definitely be back!! 

Exactly what we were looking for, affordable and CLEAN! 

We were on a 10 day road trip and our stay at this property was Day 7.  We were blown away by how spacious this room was!  It was very clean.  The staff was friendly and check in was very quick.  We really appreciated that so many plugins were available around the bed.  So many properties, especially older ones, don't seem to accommodate people who use C-Pap machines or who like to charge their electronics.  This Budget Host had all that covered!   It's a great place to stay when you're just passing through and don't need a lot of frills!

Clean and Comfy

The staff was very polite. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was centrally located. The rooms all have screen doors so you can leave the door open and enjoy the breeze or let the natural light in. I would definitely stay again if I’m ever in the Upper Peninsula.

Come Again

My wife and I visit the Soo every year and first stayed at the Budget Host Crestview Inn in 2012 after previously staying at some other motels in the area in years prior.  We recently made our 2021 Soo trip which marked our 10th consecutive stay here, and year after year we continue to love and appreciate all that this motel has to offer.

The motel has an ideal, unique location on Ashmun Hill which makes it close to everything but also, depending on the room you're in, gives an elevated view of the area that you won't get closer to the river or at the motels closer to I-75.  If you're in a room on the west side of the property, overlooking the courtyard-style parking area, what you lack in view you make up for with exceptional peace and quiet, away from traffic.  You park at your door (or as close to it as possible) so unpacking and re-packing at the end of your stay are easy and your vehicle is always in view.

Amenities are basic, but done well.  We always have a comfortable sleep.  The small refrigerator is big enough to meet our needs, and if we need to re-heat anything, the common room with the ice machine, vending, and free, fresh coffee is equipped with a microwave.  Wi-fi is free, and in my opinion has been more reliable and easier to connect to our last few stays.  Another welcome change is upgraded alarm clock radios with USB charging ports on the top...something the original owners couldn't have imagined when new!  The motel has made a few changes since the pandemic.  The previous continental breakfast has been discontinued (the coffee is still available).  All of the staff are very friendly and willing to help...and I think by this point recognize us by name.  One year they even e-mailed to confirm we had double-booked in error as they had an additional reservation for us a month after we had already made our visit for the year...they are truly attentive and have a good memory!

Another thing that has been a constant over the years is exceptional cleanliness.  Never has this been an issue.  Besides the expected freshness  of the room  upon check-in, all furnishings are in good condition, and overall the property is in excellent condition for its age.  

About the only negative...having to leave to come home at the end of our stay!  But we're already looking forward to next year, and there's no doubt that the Budget Host Crestview Inn is where we'll be staying.  Try it and see what we mean!

Don't be detered by the outside of this hotel - it is the older motel style where you park right in front of your room.
The room is a comfortable size, and very well lit. It is impeccibly clean. The bed is a queen! This is family owned and the owners live on the premises. They are friendly and readily provide tips on the area.
There is nothing fancy here. Just a good place to spend the night at a good price.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Above My Expectations

i stayed here on my trip the lady who checked me in was very nice, the room was clean, it was close to all the stuff in town.  a few bad things no continal breakfest because of covid, and couldnt always park infront of my room

This motel is a perfect place to lay your head while in the Soo.. This Motel is supper clean, quiet rooms and great owners who live on site. They are very accommodating even allowing pets of all size (I've got an English Mastiff puppy that can be a little messy). Centrally located, less than a 5 min drive to town. Set on top of a hill that gives you a great view of downtown. The staff are amazing and alway ready to help.I really can't say enough about this place. A great way to be introduced to the Soo and its locals. I've ended up spending a few weeks here and everyone has made it feel like home. Highly recommend even if its for a night or extended stay!
