I travel by Seaford 5 days a week. I have noticed that in the last few weeks that the Holiday Inn sign is gone and there are No customers. All the motels close by will have an almost full parking lot and this one will have one or two cars, and probably one works there, even on the week-ends. It has a great view. I heard it was sold and I cannot figure out why anyone would buy it and not fix the details in the pictures shown. It could be doing the greatest business but I guess new owner does not want to make money.Why ???

WHAT HAS HAPPENED???

Hotel is no longer an IHG branded hotel and is not honoring reservations that were made while they were a Holiday Inn Express.  Back in October 2018, I booked and paid for 16 families at this hotel for an event in the area in July.  I recently came to find out the hotel is no longer a Holiday Inn Express, but even worse, is not honoring any reservations that were made while they were part of the brand.  We have now had to scramble to find other rooms in the area.  If you have future rooms booked with this hotel, make sure they still have them!

The first room we were given was a second floor room. I woke up to water dripping from the ceiling and the carpet soaked. They put us in a new room. The room smelled of mildew and had black mold. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

When reading this review, be mindful that there are not a lot of other options for lodging in this area. I feel like this hotel is probably better than others in the vicinity. Given that I would stay here again. Hopefully, this feedback will be accepted as an opportunity to be better regardless of your star rating. 

Pros:
- The staff was incredibly friendly and polite. 
- Overall quiet. 
- Affordable (note - you get what you pay for)
- Nice lobby decor and first impression

Cons--The attention to detail part:
- No shampoo in room
- No hand towels in room
- No bath/shower mat in room
- Soap scum in the shower
- Mold and rust in the bathroom 
- Wifi was down building-wide

Breakfast:
- At 7:15 AM, they were out of most breakfast items. Also, veggie omelettes were where sausage was to be, scrambled eggs were where breakfast potatoes were suppose to be, no bacon, no sausage, no potatoes. Just hard, veggie omelettes and scrambled eggs plus a few biscuits left. Advertised Cinnabon but bin was empty and turned off; old, brown spotted bananas. It's like they never restocked breakfast after initially setting it up. 

You're better than this, HIE. I'm a IHG rewards member and this is uncommon for you.

Attention to Detail Lacking. Needs Updates.

1st room: Smelled moldy and musty
2nd room: Musty, not as bad smelling
3rd room: Thought it was okay until I tried to take a shower and there was no water.
4th room: Had to borrow a screwdriver from the front desk to tighten the toilet seat so we wouldn't fall off of it.
The mattresses were not very comfortable, time to upgrade them.
The normally good breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express was only mediocre and the waffle maker was broken.
The only good thing I can say about this experience is in the morning the day manager told me they would not be charging us for our stay due to the multiple problems we faced.

Run away don't stay

Like so may others have said, the rooms stink. My room is musty and smells like wet leaves and smoke.
I am here on business and unfortunately do not pick my location. This is my second week and third room, all the same. There's no ventilation so it just remains closed up. The windows don't open, theres no fan in the bathroom either. Speaking of bathroom, my toilet is running and wobbling and I can hear water dripping in the ceiling.
I have spider webs in the window. And ants in the bathroom. The curtains hem is ripped off and hanging. The bed skirts are ripped and showing sign of dry rot. The windows need cleaned, the outside needs cleaned, the cobwebs need to be removed from the higher ceilings in the lobby. 
The elevator is dirty...I find a lot of things dirty here.
I'm afraid to plug my laptop in at the desk because the outlet looks like it's caught fire before. 
I am away on business, like I said and I travel a lot. This is the worst Holiday Inn I've ever stayed in and it's just depressing and makes me homesick.

Not up to par... definitely not you would expect from the Holiday Inn brand.

We decided to go to this hotel before the trip because the name actually promises a certain standard. This expectation was disappointed. The hotel is obviously not new, which in itself is not a problem if it is otherwise maintained. In our room (from the previous user or perhaps even longer?) there was an empty drink can next to the bed on the floor. Although this could not be seen immediately from the door, but should have been noticed when making a bed or dust. However, we would have liked the breakfast seen in the pictures.
