We had a wedding in Southhold and wanted to stay in a B&B. So happy to have found this gem. Beautiful, quaint home off the beaten path.  So charming, so comfortable.  Flo was a wonderful host who built this beautiful home with so much attention to detail, inside and out. Will definitely be returning!

A gem in Southhold

Just a beautiful home! The attention to detail in the decor was amazing! The White Room was on the second floor and walking the grand staircase was like transporting you back to an earlier time. We were impressed that the steps and banisters were always clean and polished on every trip.  My husband and I loved looking out at the horses each day from the picture window at the top of the stairs.   The White Room was comfortable nicely decorated and faces the front of the house to a beautiful view.  We enjoyed eating breakfast on the front porch and just couldn't get over how quiet and peaceful it was.. we were a bit sorry to have to leave and get back to the"rat race" but we hope to stay there again. Flo is a wonderful hostess, from her knowledge of the area to her delicious breakfasts every morning she makes you feel that her house is truly your house during your stay. We highly recommend but it can be a little confusing driving the area at night😁. Thank you Flo and your family for making our stay with you so enjoyable!

A wonderful staycation in Southhold!

This is a beautifully decorated bed and breakfast.  The home is truly unique and very impressive!  Location is great.  Wonderful place to relax.

Beautiful Place!

My husband and I were visiting Southold for a long weekend and enjoyed our stay at the Walk in the Woods.  It wasn't easy to find but once you did it was worth the search.  It is nestled in the woods near a wetlands preserve and the wildlife is all around you, first day we saw deer and wild turkeys.  There is a beautiful and large front veranda/porch that was perfect for morning coffee or evening wine.  Flo and her daughter were wonderful hostesses and our room was lovely.

Peace in the woods

We stayed at A Walk in the Woods Bed and Breakfast last weekend.  We were attending a family wedding, came by ferry and did not bring a car.  Flo, the owner, connected me with her daughter Janine.  Janine was our personal driver for the weekend which worked out great!  She did not mind picking us up late at night.  The B&B is on a beautiful piece of property and Flo is a very welcoming, gracious hostess.  We were in a suite on the second floor which was perfect for me and my two adult children. Three beds, a lovely bath, a nice sitting area and a gorgeous balcony.  A refrigerator down the hall for keeping our snacks and drinks.  From our balcony we could watch deer, turkeys, horses and chickens.  Breakfast both mornings was delicious.  It was fun to check out the local wineries.  Flo and Janine were lovely hosts.  I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Lovely weekend in Southold, NY

We stayed here this past fall and explored some wineries and had some delicious dinners. We loved the house and property. We rode bikes to the beach and had a great time !! The owner was very sweet and accommodating. Breakfast was good. 

Weekend getaway 

I have not been to a bed and breakfast in a very long time since they do not welcome children.  Flo greeted us warmly and upgraded us to a room she thought would better accommodate our 14 year old. She has a pool table, horses and chickens on the property. She was minutes away from the Custer Observatory and from North Fork Shack for dinner.  Her breakfast was incredible and she was very concerned about respecting our food allergies. She is located in a gorgeous mansion in the woods.  However, it is only a mile drive to the beach. She is also close to many wineries. The only thing to be aware of is that she is an avid collector of antiques including many porcelain dolls.  Therefore, very young children might not be a good match for this B&B since it may be hard for them to resist touching them.  She does have space to welcome a family traveling with a pet too.  Flo tries very hard to make you feel like home.

We love Flo

We spent 3 nights at A Walk In The Woods for our first trip to Long Island.  It was an excellent home base for getting around the island.  Flow and Janine were wonderful hosts and the chickens, turkeys and ponies add a little something special to the experience.  We couldn’t go through the woods because of ticks but the use of bikes was nice.  Breakfasts were lovely and a great start to the day.  Definitely recommended!

Wonderful family holiday

My husband and I were looking for a place to spend two nights on the North Fork to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  Came across "A Walk in the Woods Bed and Breakfast" and couldn't have been happier.  Flo and Janine are lovely and we totally enjoyed every conversation with them.  It is in a great location with many different vineyards close by. Greenport is close by.  We felt like we were staying with family.  Such a unique, beautiful and tranquil spot.

Anniversary weekend

My wife and I had a great weekend at "A walk in the woods ".We had our 5 month old Chesapeake with us and stayed in the Oak suite. Flo was wonderful as was the inn and its location. We look forward to returning.
