The known: Room was clean & had nice decor.  Bed was soft, almost to soft where it seemed the head & feet were higher than the center.  Everything in my room functioned as it should.  Staff (only ever saw front desk) was extremely friendly & as helpful as possible, but there were things that they didn't have, like I asked for a fork (they did have a spoon).  No housekeeping services (even upon request from what I heard).  Realizing the situation, I asked for a trash bag so I could empty my trash; the front desk staff was appalled that I was going to do it myself & offered to come up to do it for me.  Breakfast was to be included, but not provided at all by the hotel (more on that later).  Elevators were clunky & slow.  By the end of our stay there was only one working ice machine.  Doors were propped open into lobby as common areas of hotel did not appear to have A/C.  Parking was adequate.  Room was quiet.  There was no soap/shampoo in room, but was available at front desk upon request.  No hairdryer was provided.

The backstory: We apparently were the first "convention" since reopening from Covid.  The hotel was told months in advance to be prepared, but apparently the management chose to do the ultimate minimum including staffing & repairs to the facility.  The Convention Bureau apparently brought breakfast for "us" the last 2 (of 4) days of our stay (kudos to the CB).  This is a high end hotel and I'm being generous with 3 stars (because my room was fine).  The hotel was not prepared to, nor did it deliver a high end service and left a minimal staff to make due, yet charged full price without delivering on the expectation/promises.

Expectation vs. Reality

My mom and I stayed here so we could be close to Hammons Arena for a concert.  The hotel was very nice and well maintained.  The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful.  The room was clean, spacious and relaxing. We both had a great night's sleep in the comfortable beds. I would definitely stay here again.

Extremely comfortable

Nice hotel.  Clean.  Great beds and sheets!  Staff was friendly and courteous. Steak and Shake across the street.  Spacious rooms. They have a cute little store to purchase snacks and some different types of medicines.

Quick Stay

Seemed like the only hotel in the vicinity - GREAT LOCATION.
Right next to good dinning options.
Friendly and accommodating staff (had checked in late and wanted a later than usual checkout - which they let us do).
Decent Breakfast Buffet Spread (7am to 10am on weekdays / 7am to 10:30am on weekends).
Well kept and neat rooms. 

* Pool was closed during our stay (not sure if it was due to the weather or because of maintenance work).

Next to the Hammons Field and Close to the Drury University

We had stayed here a few weeks ago and had great time.When we were in area decided to stay here again.The desk clerk remembered my name and welcomed me like old friend.The rest of syat was super.I will always stay here when in town.

Excellent staff at front desk.

Two things that really ding this hotel from being in the really great column is no refrigerator/microwave in the room and the powdered eggs in the am. (I would love to see the powdered chickens that lay powdered eggs!) 
The rooms are clean and very comfortable . Mine had a chair and ottoman that I wanted to take home with me! Good bed and great a/c! For those that like a cool room you will be happy here. 
Staff was very friendly. If they just got real eggs it would be great!

Pretty good.

My group stayed at The Q Hotel in February, right in the middle of the switch to the new hotel and they were amazing! They took everything in stride. The staff were sweet and attentive to us. Our group was an immersive theatre event at Pythian Castle, and the staff not only made us feel welcome they were excited with every single one of our attendees. We will be coming back. 

Two staff really made our stay. Crittney And Callie. The two worked had to make sure we were taken care of and accommodated. I cannot sing enough praises for them.

Great Hosts for Our Event

This is not the Holiday Inn Express, it is now the John Q hotel.  They've stripped all the Holiday Inn signs and it is named after some rich guy from the area.  The rooms are ok, nothing great.  There is no fridge in the room.  The amenities are sparse.  There is a breakfast bar in the morning but it is at best average.  The fitness center is a small room with an exercise bike, an elliptical, and another machine.  It is cramped and not very great.  The shower backed up during my shower so I ended in dirty water over my feet.  All in all I won't be going back again, there has to be better hotels for the price in the area.

Good Hotel not great

I have stayed here several times on business trips over the last few months. The hotel has always been quiet, something that is important for getting sleep! The beds are comfortable and there is a choice of soft or firm pillows. The hotel does look a bit dated as far as the interior, but I’ve always had clean rooms. The fitness room could use some improvement. There are only a few machines (one treadmill, one elliptical and a couple bikes...no weights). I would (and will) stay here again. 

Quiet & Comfortable Hotel

Great hotel, spacious, clean rooms, friendly staff, free parking, five minutes' drive from downtown, absolutely recommended for a Springfield stay.
