The room and parking areas were spacious. It had a fair-sized refrigerator and a small microwave. There is no breakfast. The bed was fine. It is a fine place if all you need is a sleeping room. My problems were that you could neither read nor write in this room. There was no table or soft chair and, while there was a desk and chair, there was no light there or available to be moved there. In addition, there were only 2 pillows on the bed so we could no read there. 

Odd Room Plan

Upon arriving to a now bright blue hotel, we drove thru a party, people were outside all night ling, walking up to us asking for money and or cigarettes. The table was broken so they had screwed it to the wall. There was molded coffee in the coffee pot, someone else's puke in the bathroom, not to mention, we checked out and unfortunately had to check back in later, and the same sheets and blankets were on the bed!!! The best thing was the cleaning lady was nice and replaced the broken chair for us, and the front desk lady brought a clean coffee pot. Overall this was the worst place ever.

Drug haven

As soon as I arrived I had to change my bed linen. My bathroom countertop was dirty.  There are no longer deadbolt locks on the doors. There is only a single lock and a chain. This doesn't make me feel safe. On a positive note, the staff was friendly.

Very disappointing

Been back in tn since feb and staying at bolivar in has been enjoyable nice rooms and nice ppl to talk to also been able to keep my dog with me so that's a plus couldn't find anywhere else that would allow pets

Good experince at bolivar in

You could call me a long term guest (October 2012 to January 2013).  I was in the area for training at Whiteville Correctional Facility, and I needed a place to stay.  I was unable to afford the Super 8 in Whiteville, so I called around Bolivar as it's 10 minutes away. Mr. Patel priced me $500/month.  I agreed. When I arrived to Bolivar, first Mr. Patel showed me a room that his Long Term Residents stayed in.  (I have been to 45 states. I have stayed in several hotels. I would not recommend that side of the hotel.) I did not hide my disgust with the room very well, so he showed me the renovated side. Much better - it smelled of old cigarette smoke, but at least it didn't have duct tape on the floor and brown plastic figures that used to be white.  I took it.  I used my own bedding the entire time. I used my own mattress the entire time (as the beds are hard) I used my own toilet paper. I cleaned my own room the entire time.  I would run "Mom's cooking" to their son in Middle Tennessee (whom is also an innkeeper of a much  better hotel that I've also stayed at... small world!))   I took his wife from Bolivar to Lebanon TN when I would travel back towards Nashville (where I lived). I never got any discounts, nor any gas money from them.    I did not complain when they unplugged my scented oil that I kept in to keep the room from stinking. I did not complain when they turned off the air conditioner, leaving my room to return to 80 degrees on sunny days in the south. I did not complain about cleaning my own room.  I did not complain about the noise problem.  So it was a surprise to me when Jay Patel asked for MORE rent when January rolled around.     It was at that time I decided to try Super 8.   I was glad to leave.
