We needed a room for one night, and preferred not to spend too much money since only there to sleep; but definitely required a clean room and comfortable bed. We were very happy with our room and stay in these apparently recently updated rooms.

Online, they didn't appear to have any non-smoking rooms left so I called. Raj was very helpful and told me they had one room that was officially smoking but they kept it as a "Semi-smoking" and minimally rented it to smokers. He said I was free to come by and they would show me the room to let me decide for myself. I very much appreciated that offer and did take him up on it because we cannot handle too much smoke smell. They took me to the room and it only faintly smelled of smoke and the room looked quite clean so we booked it.

Not sure about all the rooms, but our room was clearly remodeled somewhat recently and looked quite nice. The bed was comfy and linens were clean. (I could see one very small stain on the white bedding but that doesn't bother me when it's obviously clean). I loved the laminate flooring, as the carpet in all hotels makes me very nervous not knowing how clean it actually is (and usually very dirty!).  This is an old motel right off the highway, so can hear some highway traffic but not at all a problem for sleeping; just general noise and nothing disruptive (like trains or emergency vehicles we've encountered in some areas and now a required ask to avoid, after lessons learned!)

The room had a small microwave and fridge, but we didn't use it. This place does not offer breakfast but for the price we paid, I didn't expect it. We could have paid $25+ at another hotel if that was important to us, but we would rather have the inexpensive good room and go eat at a local place down the road for our $ and better than any hotel breakfast. I never understand why people complain about not having a breakfast or other amenities when the price of the room is so low compared to places with those offerings. Just pay more somewhere else if you want more amenities. 

For us, we gave this place 5 stars for the price we paid. They exceeded our expectations for the amount we paid. I haven't given a rewiew on TA for a long time but felt compelled to give a current one for this place given a couple of other bad reviews and complaints.

5 stars for this recently remodeled budget motel

This is definitely a tear down. You could see outside with door with it locked, litter outside, no ice machine, non existent breakfast (embarrassing brown bag to go breakfast), security latch missing, red stains around bathroom, fridge damaged, freezer full of frost, loose wall plates, etc. The only redeeming part of the stay was a fairly decent bed and a large TV. The whole area outside was unkept. Deserves a rating of zero. Priceline rated this hotel which is a motel at 2 1/2 Stars, it was nowhere near that. Definitely don’t stay here, and don’t do a 2 1/2 Star Express deal on Priceline in Three Rivers as you will get this dump.

AVOID AT ANY COST, TOTAL DUMP!!!

We booked at the last minute as we wanted to get out of Corpus Christi to avoid the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Hannah.  The website that they used for this hotel was for the company OYO which have taken over this motel.  Yes I know you get what you pay for but this was beyond awful.  
We had to pay a deposit for the dogs which I didn't have a problem with until we got there.  Even my dogs thought this place was disgusting!
Things that were wrong:
Room was dirty
Smashed glass in front outside of the room.
Air Con had not been on all day or for hours it was an oven and took a long time to cool down.
Holes in the walls
Holes in the blankets on the bed
Three very small flat pillows
Towels that were only fit for rags
Toilet Roll Holder was broken (not put on the wall properly)
Stains on the walls
Bad Smell
Bathroom faucet not correctly fitted and ran even when you put the shower on
Sheets were grey
Yes it was a smoking room but the air vent in the bathroom had never been cleaned
Door security latch was broken/not there
Bathroom door was dirty and really needed a scrub
Toilet seat was not fitted correctly and kept flopping down (husband fixed it)
We have stayed in some questionable places but this beats them all.  They could have at least cleaned it especially with the COVID-19 situation.  We used a whole can of Lysol and air freshener, we were short of funds and had no choice but to stay.
The only redeeming feature was the TV - large flat screen and the internet was pretty decent, fast enough to stream.  
I understand if a motel is old but there is NO excuse for being dirty no excuse at all!!

Disgusting AVOID - Taken over by OYO

The lobby and breakfast area looked pretty good, when I first booked the room, but when I stepped into the room, I immediately regretted stopping there. The room was dirty, and the beds sheets and pillows looked like they had been slept in before. There was a crack under the door (to the outside) so big I was able to stick my hand through. The fridge made very strange noises and had to be unplugged for the night. To top it of, when we got to the breakfast area at 8:30 (breakfast was from 5:30 to 9:30) there was not much left. I counted 3 slices of toast and 3 bananas. No wonder,  so few guests stayed there.

Never again

Do not stay here.  It was disgusting.  The room was dirty and not clean.  There was human fluids on the chairs.  There was human fluids on the doors.  It was horrible and disgusting.  This place is not sanitary.  Stay away.  

Don’t Stay Here - disgusting 

We stopped here on our way to the Rio Grande Valley.  Our first clue should have been that there wasn’t a single car in the lot.  When I opened the door of the room, the smelll was very bad.  The decor is very old and rundown.  Upon checking further, I pulled back the curtain for the shower.  The bathtub was full of bugs!  There had to have been a couple of hundred!  I ran out of the room, to the front desk, and asked for a refund.  The desk clerk was apologetic but did not appear to be one bit surprised.  The pictures are in no way representative of the accommodations.

Stay Away!!

This is an old hotel with exterior doors. Lipstick on a pig would be a good description. We were in town for a wedding that was occurring the following day late in the afternoon. Upon check-in, we were informed check-out was 11 am. I requested a late check-out as there isn't much to do in this town and the longer we could stay in the hotel and relax, the better. I was informed that it was $10 per hour for each hour we checked out late. I have never been denied a late check out from any hotel, and being that I am a Choice Rewards member, I did not expect to be denied or charged for the extra time.

The phone in the room did not work. I had to use my personal cell phone to call the front desk. The side tables appeared to not have been dusted in months as there was a thick layer of dust on them. The shower head did not work properly as half the water still came out the spout at the bottom.

The room was very musty smelling like someone had recently smoked in there (non smoking room) and they couldn't get the smell out.

Breakfast...health hazard. There was no waffle mix, so the front desk guy went to the back area to get some. What he came back with was an old, faded plastic cup that he had just mixed the waffle mix in. It was the consistency of water. The orange juice from the refrigerated dispenser was hot. The butter for the waffles hadn't ever seen a refrigerator as it was curdled and separated. Everything else was pre-packaged danishes and cold cereal.

We were given $6 off of our room rate as compensation for our inconveniences.

Don't believe the good reviews on here. We almost left as soon as we checked in, but decided to stick it out. The pictures are also very misleading.

Stayed here while visiting family. The front desk attendant was very courteous! Clean and quite room with working A/C, flat screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, wi-fi and continental breakfast. The pressure of the water was great!

Great Service!

I love my Choice Rewards hotels.  The man at the front desk could not have been better.  Great ideas and helpful and very pleasant.   The room - the bathroom - great great shower. Wonderful water pressure. Clean.  Drained well.  Excellent. 
The bed - super super comfortable.   Pillows great.  Clean.  Huge room.  Comfortable. HUGE tv high enough to see from bed. BUT ---- Walls were dirty.  Looks like coffee spilled down them. And NO CELL SIGNAL.  NONE!!!!  SERIOUSLY! !!  Had to go outside and text associates my motel and room number and use the motel phone.  Couldn't do 2 calls at once, couldn't do conference calls, couldn't do texts. As awesome as this place was, please think if you NEED your phone, consider this difficulty.  

Excellent staff

The Rodeway Inn in Threerivers is a clean and reasonably priced motel in Three Rivers.  It is one of the older placed but taken care of fairly well.  Only thing not nice in the suite we had was the partition between the sitting area and sleeping which was a half wall trimmed in wood and painted.  The thing really needed paint.  The bathroom was very clean and modern and everything worked but the hair drier.  The manager offered my wife another when she told him it wasn't working.  The place is quiet and the A/C worked very well which is a big plus in south Texas in the summer.  The room did have a microwave and small refrigerator and both worked well.
