My husband did some research and found that this was a nice hotel with a quaint atmosphere. Apparently, some guests overstate their welcome, and we ended up in a basement type room that looked like an old classroom.   The curtains did cover the windows.  The bathroom had lots of towels. This place had a bed and a bathroom, and that's my minimum requirement for a stay.

Very disappointed 

We were rented a room with a known yellow jacket insect problem. We killed more than 25 yellow jackets in the course of 1 night and early the next morning. When confronted, the proprietor admitted that they were aware of the problem but had never shared this info with us. By the time that we discovered all of this we could not switch rooms or move to another hotel due to lack of available rooms anywhere in town.

Host put us in harm's way...

Customer service was the best ever experienced. Had family emergency. Talked with Joe, he made sure we were able to get a room, also inquired if other family members would need room. 
Checked in after check in time, but he made sure we were able to get our room. Room was very comfortable with refrig, micro, and coffee maker. Will definitely stay again when in area. Thank you for all your assistance during a stressful time

I Loved our stay at The Stone House. Joe and Leslie are the BEST!!!!!!!  Being I am a Hometown Boy I know them well and They have not changed with all the Kindness they could have ever shown. Every time I come into town from Pennsylvania I will be staying there EVERY TIME.

AWESOME STAY

The proprietor is a knuckle-dragging loser who discriminates against people with service animals!  My wife and daughter were coming to Ti for a family reunion (a family that has lived in Ti for over 100 years!), and we placed a courtesy call to the motel to let them know that my daughter's service dog would also be with them.  Obviously, anyone with a brain knows that service animals must be accommodated under the Americans with Disabilities Act, but this proprietor is clearly unfamiliar with the law of the land.  He went on to tell us that we were "arrogant" because we informed him of the law!  He also had the nerve to say that he was a 6 year Marine, and couldn't fathom even offering a room to veteran with PTSD who needed a service animal.  He proceeded to curse repeatedly, and of course he canceled the reservation.  Stay away from this place...clearly they don't want the business of any people that have a brain!

This place is very quaint! Owner seem nice. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable but the pillows not so much. The doors are difficult to close. Maybe they swell up a bit. Radiator heat that wasn’t real warm! The outdoor ground are very clean. Another down side was the front door seems to lock about 8pm. At 8:30am when we checked out no one was around. So we left keys on the desk.

Quaint & cozy

No hotels in Burlington so we stayed here before flying out. Stayed across the street for first night but then full so walked across and asked if they had room (website said full) luckily they did! Always call to check availability. Nothing special but had a bed and shower. We stayed in 17 and water was backwards. Looks like they are redoing and upgrading the place. Nice owner. Said we could use the gas grill and fire pit for free!

Good value for a bed.

If you like "established" properties with personality, you will enjoy the Stone House! Innkeeper was very friendly and our room was spacious and comfortable. Hot Biscuit Diner, right across the street, is convenient and VERY good. Got to town late and just had time to briefly see the beautiful little park and waterfall in the middle of town just before dark, but would love to come back and explore this historic town someday. Enjoyed our short stay very much!

Great stay in Ticonderoga!

I was in town working at the Star Trek Museum (tour) and needed a place to stay.
I was not interested in the chain hotels in town and picked the Stone House Hotel.
They were real nice to get me a room even with a late night arrival.
The front desk is not manned all the time and you call and make the reservations and they set you up with a room.
The room as nice and big for the one bed and enjoyed the stay. The room is well kept and has the character of a older hotel.
 
I plan to be back to the Stone House when in town for future Star Trek Museum events.

Different place to stay. Has character and not a chain hotel.

Decorations and amenities are old-fashioned, but all necessities are in place, and all function well. Bed is cozy, and the host is very helpful recommending things to do nearby. Good place for a good night of sleep on your road trip.
