First off I have to say I may be pickier than others and small details matter to me. I think that’s what bed and breakfasts and inns are all about vs a chain hotel. The little details. I’ve been to some that go overboard and some that don’t. 
The positives:  Perfect location, lovely owners, reasonably priced, comfy bed, convenient parking. 
The negatives ( for me ):  No AC or room fan, no mini-fridge in room and no ice available on the premises. Upon arrival my husband and I were looking forward to having a cocktail on the front porch but had to leave again to go find ice. I’ve never ever stayed anywhere where ice wasn’t available. To me it’s a given. Very tiny bathroom with nowhere to put any toiletries. No shelf, no sink space, no cabinet so had to leave everything in suitcase and bring it into bathroom whenever you needed it.  Upon arrival there were only 2 bath towels. There was no bath mat when stepping out of shower so had to use one of the towels which only left one towel to use for 2 people. No tissues in bathroom and no extra roll of tp, just the one on the holder. ( there should always be a spare just in case ). Our room was on the 3rd floor and was a bit warm. Since no AC or fan, only other option was to open the window which helped however there were no screens so lots of flies came in. Our stay wasn’t terrible but I feel a lot of improvements could have been made. 
P.S-  the “eatery” is not open yet . It appears to be under construction.

Just Ok

Sheldon, Francy and Aggie are a really nice team.  Sheldon greets and checks you in, while Francy is cooking up the grub for the restaurant. Aggie may give you a bark, but she will make you love her with that beautiful personality.  The location is great, PAVED ROADS, get you to Chester Town Center and you can take Rte 11 to 91 and beyond.  We enjoyed the meal, from Steak Frites, Eggplant Parm to Lobster Rav's. The beer selection was wonderful. The rooms, well, clean, cozy ( small ) but wonderful for those looking for a bit of history. The front porch is as inviting as the gardens too.  Priced for the enjoyment of the outdoors. 

111 year old Federal Style Inn with fun cozy Restaurant and nice Hosts

Nice cozy old fashion Inn and Restaurant/Bar located outside a small picturesque Vermont town. The door to the restaurant and bar is a mirror 50 feet from the front door of the Inn which is convenient. Sheldon the owner was super nice and very helpful. His wife is the chef and is a good cook. The restaurant and bar staff were great.

The rooms are a bit small but comfortable. There’s no TV but I didn’t care. There is Wifi. We reserved two rooms with two twin beds for the four of us but for some reason ended paying for an extra room. 

The snowmobile trails were good considering there wasn’t a lot of base. Sheldon has gas on the property which is convenient. 

I would recommend Stonehearth Inn as a nice alternative to the higher priced hotel chains. Sheldon the owner is the kind of person you would want as a neighbor and friend.

1/29 to 2/1/2021 Trip

Location is bad for Inn as it is right on main road and a lot of traffic noise. Room was filthy, accumulated dust all over the place. The exhaust in the bathroom had accumulated dust in it. Never cleaned. The outlet i plugged my phone charger in had no outlet cover. Dust on the flood, woodwork, etc. we get in the room and there is no glasses  to take our meds, brush out teeth, etc.  We were also that breakfast was included in the price and booking info said this. When i go to pay he tells me no breakfast due to COVID. But he runs a restaraunt, how can he do one and not the other? Also, pillow was flat as a pancake and bed was extremely uncomfortable.

I would avoid this place at all costs! Food may be good but accomadations leave quite a lot to be desired!

Terrible Inn

I can't speak for the rooms—the tavern side has fantastic food and service in a warm, cozy setting. Wing nights on Sunday nights are our family favorite. They have a fantastic selection of wing flavors and preparations along with special flavors added. Nice selection of good beers on tap. Bonus points for the little touch of house made ranch for the wings.

The building is historic and a little quirky but we didn’t mind that.  Room was clean but that was about all to recommend it.  

 Problems - only owner can adjust heat and it wasn’t turned on for a night in 40’s; no toiletries except small bar of soap; no hair dryer although they did find one for me to use; no television in our room although our friends had one in theirs.

The bar and restaurant downstairs was good and service was friendly.

Not up to normal B&B standards

I have to admit that I continue to be pleased with the Stone Hearth Tavern. Their steak is always very good, burgers are very reliable oh, the bar choices are somewhat limited except for the beer where they have a good number of choices, and the Highlight is always the people very friendly, very helpful, and always good to be around. The restaurant itself is designed for families are your posts key or if you're a snowmobiler it's right on the trail so it's convenient for everyone

Solid Favorite, good beef, friendly service

We made a last minute booking to catch a snowstorm hitting the Okemo area. The place feels historic and has character. Sheldon took great care of us and it was great to stay at a place where you can have great beer and a good meal right downstairs!

I have to give special props to Sheldon for helping us get our car out in the morning after a 12” snow night. He plowed the parking lot for us first thing in the morning and was extremely patient when we had difficulty getting our car out.

I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect base camp for Okemo

IF you like a really-old tavern style atmosphere, this is one to try ( more than once)

The food is excellent but not fast-food priced. Expect to pay more for BETTER.

Cozy atmosphere, fully stocked bar, helpful smiling staff people. THe owner is right there ( at least on Sunday which is when we went)

Cozy and fun

My wife an I were road tripping through New England and happened upon The Stone Hearth as the sum was setting one evening. The Stone Hearth is a classic Vermont Inn, dinner and a place to stay. We happened to be there on "wing night" and the wings were awesome and the beer selection was perfect! Sheldon and his family are so nice and accommodating! The room was so perfect with a great bed and on suite bathroom that was like new with a great shower and HOT water. We accidentally let our phone charger in the room and Sheldon called us to let us know that he would mail it to our house and not to worry about paying him?! What an awesome guy!! Breakfast was included the next morning and it was perfect. We could not have asked foa better start to our road trip! Thank you so much Stone Hearth Inn and Tavern!!
