I did not actually stay at The Ocean House but our close friends who were newlyweds did. I worked closely with the Chef Concierge, Joe, who helped me set something up as a gift waiting for them upon arrival. I have worked in hotels and restaurants for a decade and Joe was truly a breath of fresh air to work with. He facetimed me from the gift shop and we were able to narrow in on a gift. He also hand-wrote a card with a message I emailed and made it a lovely display for when our friends entered the room. It was an extra special surprise and Joe made it easy. Thank you so much, Joe & Ocean House! 

White glove service that shouldn't be missed! 

We’ve been Newport several times but this was our first visit to Watch Hill. The Ocean House was beautiful, and a great staff. A special shout out to the concierge, Robin was so helpful with dinner reservations, transportation, local history and more. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Weekend getaway

OMG the Ocean House off season is the best! We were just there in December and the decorations are fabulous. The staff is amazing and ever so kind and helpful. The rooms are beautifully appointed and some with fireplaces. Lots of goodies in the rooms. Also the food is excellent!! Joe, the concierge is very helpful and knows everything about the hotel and area. Did you know that the Ocean House has the most Bemelmans (Madeline) in the USA? Breathtaking views and beaches in the winter are lovely. We cannot wait to return.

From the moment we arrived at Ocean House to our sad departure, we were treated with great care and courtesy. The employees are so well-trained, and so pleasant and polite. Even my little dog, Sadie, was adored, and  petted to her heart’s content. Christos, the manager, was very charming and polite when showing me my room.

Our rooms were beautiful and meticulously clean and had everything one needs in a luxury hotel room. Amazingly, my room was so quiet I could’ve heard a pin drop, and this is almost the most important thing to me in a hotel.

I loved all the treats from the malted milk balls to crunchy salty snacks in the room and also the baby pillow with my initial on it. It was very hard to resist them all. Having candy jars all over the hotel filled with goodies makes one feel happy, and as if we had landed in the middle of Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory.

The morning coffee with the croissants and other goodies easily available for the guests was a special treat though we also had a delicious breakfast in the restaurant while gazing out at the lovely ocean view.

The chef at this hotel is fabulous and we enjoyed our dinner very much. My friend had a fabulous halibut that was cooked to perfection and I had an amazing squash soup with a salad I wanted to take home and eat forever.

As we were leaving, we were given two chocolate bars, one was milk chocolate and one was dark chocolate and I thought that was so thoughtful.

We will definitely go back again to visit, because both of us felt so pampered and had an incredible time. The owners of this hotel have not overlooked one tiny thing in order to make guests feel very special.

Wonderful and Magical

The Ocean House is a five star gem, located on the Atlantic Ocean in Rhode Island. The rooms, service, food, and ambience are top notch. 

If you are looking for a getaway for a weekend or a full week, try the Ocean House. You will probably go back every year for the rest of your life.

Ocean House Excellence

A truly 5 star experience. Everyone works hard to please and it shows. Great room, lots of nice extras, always some fun activities and a great restaurant. We go for a weekend every year during the holidays. Took a nice jaunt from there to see the lobster trap Christmas Tree in Stonington.

My husband and I attended a Vine to Wine class at Ocean House, run by GianPaolo. It was a great time—lovely snacks, very interesting facts, and delicious wine. I definitely recommend the class.

We haven't stayed at the Ocean House itself yet, but we want to now. The foyer is gorgeous, and the bar had great service and food.

Wow! What a beautiful property with the most gracious and attentive staff! We were treated like royalty during our entire visit. As we were celebrating an anniversary literally every server and hostess mentioned a congratulations during our entire stay.

Amazing get away

I was unfamiliar with Watch Hill until my recent visit to Ocean House. What a pretty location by the beach, with views of the ocean and the sound. The building itself is gorgeous with a beautifully designed interior and rooms. It went beyond my expectations, especially with the level of service provided. The staff was welcoming and very professional and attentive. I look forward to another visit soon.
