Stayed Saturday, June 10th 2023.
Trash in the nightstand drawer, washcloth over the smoke detector, dirty looking towels, curtains hanging off.Pool was closed even though the website says it’s open. I called about all these things and was told they don’t have any other rooms. I called Choice Hotels customer service in the hope that they’d get me somewhere else to stay. Abut they couldn’t. We couldn’t afford a different hotel, so we decided to stay. A little while later, I scraped my ankle on something sticking out under the boxspring. Turned out to be rusty metal.
Sunday morning, I called the office and spoke to Amy. She was kind and understanding, but couldn’t do anything to help. She said the manager is very strict about refunds. I said that needing a tetanus shot from a motel stay is grounds for a refund. She agreed and said if the manager doesn’t get me a refund, she will.
Monday morning I called again. Amy answered and said the manager hadn’t been in yet and to call in the afternoon.
Called Monday afternoon and Hillary said the manager left a note saying that since we stayed the whole night, there would be no refund. Hillary was defensive and rude and wouldn’t let me speak. Yes, she has no control, but part of her job is to listen, and she wouldn’t do that. I kept my tone civil and didn’t take my anger out on her.
So far, as of Monday evening, I have no resolution. We’ll see what happens tomorrow morning if Amy is working again.

Best place in town for tetanus.

My standards are low, but this was by far thr worst place Ive ever stayed.  Junked furniture everywhere.  Room hadnt been vacuumed in ages because "the vacuum cleaner doesnt work".  Roaches in the room.   Milk that expired five says ago for breakfast, with only old cold cereal & ancient undated yogurt for food.   Was yelled at by aggressive staff for trying to fill up a normal-sized coffee cup.  Was told the coffee is complementary so I am only allowed to have a tiny paper cup full.  The room was absolutely filthy. There were cigarette ashes on the TV remote. There was nothing in the room – no wastebasket, no alarm clock no nothing only one working outlet in the whole room. There was construction debris everywhere, and the staircases are falling apart. The pool is empty. I asked for some towels to cover up the filthy furniture, and I got towels that were covered in paint and had holes in them. If all this weren't bad enough, there are super bright security lights that shine directly into the windows all night, and the curtains are see-through… So all night it looks like it is daytime.  This place was a nightmare.

Nightmare

Didn’t look too bad from the outside, but the room was pretty bad. Some paint would help, and they are renovating but room 132 has a bedbug infestation. On a positive note, didn’t see any roaches. Just knowing I got blood sucked from those little bed rascals though is bad enough. Call an exterminator!

Bed bugs

Nothing on the site mentioned renovations.  Arrived after hours of driving and see no other cars in the parking lot but that is not always a bad thing.  The light was flickering over the canopy like in a horror movie, but again these things are not always a bad thing. The lobby is clean looking, but there is an odor.  Walk past trash on the stairs and landing to check out the room and nope.  Water damage is obvious, and the smell of mold/mildew.  The beds feel moist to the touch and the bathroom had obvious black mold on the walls.  Dead bugs, dirt everywhere.  I told my daughter to grab her things and start reservations down a few exits as we pack up and I go to turn in the key and request proof of checkout.  Was not given any paperwork and was told I had to call Choice for a refund.

Called them on the way to another hotel that was almost sold out, but got a room.  So far I've been refunded only one day of my two-day stay which has been taken out of my account.  I'm waiting for a call about why it was not fully refunded.  Forget renovations and just level the place and start back over.


No, go down to another exit, hotel...just no.

I've stayed here a couple times and got what I expected for the price paid. The place is/was a bit outdated, but is slowly being renovated. Once all upgrades are complete I expect it to be a lot better.

Not Bad

Do not use this hotel!  I have pictures of blood stains on the comforter that was ripped, no smoke alarm, broken door lock,  mold on bathroom walls.  The health department needs to condemn the place!!!!!

Disgusting

Staff was great. Bed was comfortable. Really all aroound great place to visit. I'll be back when i have to come back to town. The property is being renovated to looking really nice. Staff was great. Great Stay

One star is much to high of a rating for this hotel. I don’t know where the pictures came from, but it isn’t the hotel I went to. Filthy doesn’t even come close to describe the hotel and room I was assigned to. The sheets were unwashed and filthy with dirt, hair and blood. The curtain was hanging off the window and the part that was hung, didn’t go across the window. The fabric colored chair was too filthy to set on.  There were coffee grounds in the coffee pot. The walls looked like someone shook up a soda and sprayed them. They were sticky and filthy. Did I mention how it smelled?  It would take a long time to write how filthy the bathroom was and the condition it was in.  I rented this room on Priceline and I’m very disappointed that they even offered this. The room was too filthy to sleep in.  I reported this the the desk clerk who immediately cancelled my reservation. It was as if this was a normal outcome for quests at this filthy establishment.

The hotel itself is being renovated but the rooms are still clean and well kept. The Housekeeping  team is very nice and checks on me every day with a smile. The management team truly goes above and beyond to make our guest experiences pleasurable.  Hilary and Amy are very personable yet professional. They genuinely care about the guest and ensuring that we have a good stay. I have been on this Earth a few days and customer service has become a lost art, Kudos and many thank yous to the team at Quality Inn for bringing service back and making the customer centric to what they do,

Customer Service

Reservation was for two nights, June 25 and 26.  Arrived after midnight, checked in and went to room.  Went in bathroom and found toilet was not working.  Went into bedroom to find spiders and bugs crawling on bed, which had mattress on floor with no box spring.  Refrigerator did not work, either.  Went to office and waited 15-20 minutes for clerk and asked for different room and was told none available.  Requested to cancel both nights and ask for refund; clerk said manager would credit card.  Charge of $166.16 showed up on card 06/28/2021 and credit for $88.16 appeared on 06/30/2021.  Since then, have been trying to obtain the rest of the charges, $88.16.  Called Choice Hotels several times and as told refund would have to come from property.  Made several attempts to contact manager leaving messages.  Manager finally called and said he would discuss with person on duty that evening.  I have called manager back over the past weeks and he has yet to return my call.  I have had good stats at other Choice Hotels, but I will not be staying at a Choice property again.
