We stayed at the Budget Inn Motel in Woodlands one night. The motel was close to the highway and within walking distance of a 7-11 and a number of very pleasant restaurants. We had two beds and one bed was so close to the bathroom door that we tripped on the bedspread several times. The room was medium small, as it was able to hold a round table, big enough for comfortably eating or working, with two chairs. The TV was old style but had a decent selection of channels. The included Wifi worked well. While there was a fridge and a microwave, there was no coffeemaker or included breakfast. The only toiletries were 2 small bars of soap and the towels were thin. There was one small bathroom shelf and areas of the wall were peeled back. There was plenty of hot water and the water pressure was strong.
If you are sensitive to sounds, there was a nearby traffic signal that constantly beeped.

Summary
-I have stayed in some extremely poor quality hotels around the world and the Budget Inn, Woodland has moved into my top 5 worst hotels.

Pros
-Close to the highway.
-Walking distance to restaurants.

Cons
-Plexiglass window to check in (not a reassuring sign).
-Handwritten (and comically misspelt) sign stating "No Trafficking".  That led me to ask - no trafficking of what?
-Supposedly had wifi - I asked for the password and was reluctantly given a handwritten (or indecipherable) one, which did not work and I could be be bothered trying to get the correct one.
-Booked a king size room through Booking.Com for <US$80/night.  We were at the end of a +13hr drive and just needed a basic room to sleep for the evening.  This was one of the cheapest in Woodland with OK ratings.
-When we booked in we were given a queen size room so I asked for the room type we booked.  The chap at the counter was a little hesitant but gave as one, turns out I can see why he was hesitant.  There was blood on the coverlet (that looked like it had not been washed for 20 years) and the room was olfactory torture.  We asked for the original    room back - the only improvement was the smell was sightly better.  Otherwise there were no redeeming features, towels were hand towel sized and almost transparent, heater sounded like an oncoming train (so the choice was some warmth and likely hearing loss or shivering with no hearing loss), pillows were non-existant, shower was tepid (zero hot water) and I tried avoiding thinking about when the coverlet and fire hazard blanket were last washed.
-We were on the road by 5am.

Lives up to its name - but still not cheap enough given the quality (or lack thereof)

I Checked into a dark cramped room with walls made of center blocks of all things. EVERYTHING was old DIRTY and out-dated SO many things were wrong! that place made my skin crawl!!! im an easy going person and i figured that because it was a cheap price its you get what you pay for NOT THE CASE  I have a strong feeling this place is NOT up to code (health or building)

Worst  OF THE WORST

I stayed here again in this midway point between southern Oregon and Los Angeles just off I-5.  As before, I was by myself so I didn't mind the smallness of the room, small in comparison to most motel rooms I rent. 

Room is pleasantly painted & decorated. I noticed the carpet was quite good, newish, no stains, telling me that the Indian owners have been investing $ into their business. Clean, white sheets & pillow cases.

Small things on the minus side: they offer no coffee, no quickie breakfast either, and the small dining table was needing repair.

I might stay again.

They had bed bugs & didn't want to give me a refund.... They actually expected me to take another room... Worst hote experience ever!!!!
Never again...
The rooms were filthy, strange smells in the bathroom, the pool was drained & then we found a bedbug on the pillow....
