Dubois

This place was our saving grace. My hubby and I were trying to drive through the night to our destination, however got too tired around Dubois. We pulled into this beautiful place and were pleased to find a late check in box with a key, directions and a nice note welcoming us to stay at 2 am in the morning!! The room was amazingly clean and heated up quickly. And the bedding was crisp with great pillows! Even better, the blackout curtains allowed use to sleep until check out. At check out it was great to meet the new owner who was pleasant to talk to, made my hubby a fresh pot of coffee and luckily had a soda and a few breakfast items. I wish I had time to look at the pretty turquoise jewelry on display. I did take a few minutes to walk to some of the RV sites by the river picturing my next trip to this place, sitting by a fire pit, looking at the stars, my fifth wheel behind me and hearing the river bubble by. On my next trip I will be visiting the National Military Vehicle Museum just a few miles away!

Our Saving Grace!

Nice motel. Budget friendly. Our room had a single queen size bed. Bed was comfortable. Pillows seemed smaller, half the normal size. The room was clean. Water was hot. Check-in was pretty straightforward, and the desk attendant was nice. Just be advised, most restaurants close by 8:00 pm (at least in September), so plan your food accordingly. (Although, I believe the bars were still open later.) The RV park made for a nice little area to walk through after dinner and after having sat in a car driving all day. Overall, I would recommend and would stay again. 

Great Motel

We stayed at the Longhorn RV Resort for 2 weeks. We wanted a park that did not feel like a parking lot even if it was a drive to the Tetons and Yellowstone . This park far exceeded our expectations. The RV sites are spread apart under huge Cottonwood trees. Our pull thru site was fairly close to another RV, but many had a lot of space between. The Wind River flows thru the back of the park. The park is beautifully maintained with a large pavilion with a huge fire pit and playground nearby . The front desk staff was friendly and even found me a back in site for one night when I messed up and arrived one day early. There’s a small gift shop and store inside the front office. The laundry is spic and span and had an ADA shower inside. My favorite part…..the 6 completely self contained shower rooms. (Shower, sink, toilet) Each morning they were cleaned to great standards. ( our bathroom shower is cramped) Best thing ..our site #7 was across the driveway from it. The drive to the Tetons is long (not to get to the gate, to get anywhere inside the park) The drive there made up for the distance. We made many trips there. I felt that Yellowstone was too far to be doable more than once. We found plenty of beautiful out of the way lakes and beautiful drives to keep us busy. The Wi-Fi was not reliable, so if you rely on good Wifi, this park might not be for you. The town of Dubois is charming with many choices for eating out, for grocery shopping and even a bowling alley/arcade/bakery/sandwich shop inside. Eat at the Cowboy Cafe. You’ll see why anytime you drive by. Never empty. Did I love this park? More than any other we have ever stayed in. 

Best RV park ever

Longhorn Ranch offers horseback rides but about 6 of the horses were in pain and suffering from neglect due to Longhorn Ranch not wanting to spend money on proper care.  A white horse held in a small corral had back hooves so split the crack went up to the tissue and the horse limped.  Horses require hoof trimming which costs money but the 6 horses hooves were so long they were spreading and beginning to curl.  These 6 horses were so neglected they didn't even know what a carrot was and didn't want one.  Several were too thin to the point of ribs showing, which could be due to lack of food or poor dental care (a well cared for horse has their teeth filed routinely, since when not in the wild the teeth don't get ground down naturally.)   It was difficult to enjoy a clean room and daily housekeeping with this going on outside the window.

Animal neglect

Great location on the river with nicely spread out sites. Downside is that wifi is totally unreliable and with all the trees not satellite friendly. They do have a few typical cable channels. Close to Dubois which is right out of a western movie.

Lovely place on the river.

We have been there for one night in mid-October. It is a very nice place to stay (deer in the morning) with very friendly and helpful hosts. We had a flat tire and were very grateful for the great help !!!!

We have stayed at this motel several times over the last 12 years. The room was very clean, spacious and well appointed, but the reception we got upon checking in and later to ask for information was very haughty, cold and unwelcoming. The receptionist acted like we were bothering her by checking in and asking questions. The website comes up as pet friendly. We have a dog and that’s why I chose this accommodation. When checking in the lady said very emphatically that they did not accept dogs and if there was any evidence found in our room of a dog being in the room we would be charged a huge fee. She informed me that the pet friendly only pertained to the campground attached. This put us In a real bind. If we didn’t stay there we got no refund back. Luckily we knew someone in town who was willing to keep our dog overnight.

Nice room,  unfriendly reception

Well maintained property. Honestly not the style of hotel we usually stay at, but we got a 2 queen unit in the main building and were impressed with how clean and well maintained it was. Was actually fun to park directly outside our unit (like we used to when I traveled as a child). No breakfast provided, but that was not a problem as we knew in advance and brought cereal and milk. Staff was pleasant. We felt safe and comfortable.

Surprisingly nice!

Gorgeous peaceful setting on the beautiful Wind River. Room was nicely appointed and rustic. Resort staff were very helpful. A great jumping off point for the new National Museum of Military Vehicles. We enjoyed the entire experience very much and would certainly stay there again.

The Old West At Its Finest!

We ara a couple from Norway in a 14 days roadtrip in the north state U.S. We organize car/motorcycle-trips and  looking for new places  We have been looking all day for a place like this ranch. Wen we get there the lady in reseption  dont make us feel welcome at all. The room was also very expensive. But we choose to stay after all because it was a nice place. I go back to the lady later the evening to ask if it was possible to pay ekstra to keep the room a hour later in the morning (check out time was 10) 
But that was not possible! Then i asked if we could stay a few hours by the river next day to relax. It was a stupid question if we were planning to leave.
If so we have to pay for one extra night. This could really have been a nice stay and a place we bring other groups. But this place we never go back to. Sorry!
