I was looking forward to staying in a cabin after a long road trip using motels and hotels, but my first impression wasn't very good. There was an overwhelming smell of mint when we opened the door. It did wear off when we left the door open for a while. 
The cabin was also so small, which was made worse by having a three seater sofa, and a massive fridge. The bed was up against the wall and my husband had to wake me up to get out. I think it would have worked better turned by 90 degrees. 
There were so many cupboards and drawers, holding random items which I doubt many people would use. There was also a shelf by the shower door and my husband cut his head when he banged into it.
In the morning the sun was shining and we were able to have a light breakfast on the veranda. It was so relaxing and we felt we could have stayed all morning, and we decided that overall we had enjoyed our stay, but would have preferred space over clutter.



This place grew on us

This luxury condo is amazing to rent.  Beautiful location, verrry comfortable, decor was right up our alley.  Western style, great environment.  Check in was super easy, owner was fantastic to deal with.  If you're in the area and need a nice place to stay, this is it.  

Perfect stay

My family of five (two adults and three teen boys) had a very nice stay in the Cowboy Cabin in late June 2022.  The cabin was clean and we all fit very comfortably (with two boys staying in the loft area which they liked).  While we only stayed for a night while passing through the area, I could imagine it being a nice play to stay for a longer period of time.

I didn't meet the owners in person, but all correspondence with them through email/text was very smooth and pleasant. 

I would definitely stay here again if I were back in the area.

A nice stay in a clean and comfortable cabin

There aren't a ton of accommodations near Devil's Tower, and we always like to look for something other than a hotel.  Glad we found the cabins at Bearlodge Mountain Resort!  This is a very quiet location, tucked back off the main road through town.  A short drive up a winding gravel road to the facility and no check in (you have an access code sent to you once they are ready for you to enter).  Matt did come out and greet us because we showed up just before we got that text.  Our cabin was ready and Matt was quick to answer one more question we had via text.  It was definitely cozy for the two adults and one child - son slept on the fold out couch, which took up almost all of the small space where the large bed wasn't!  Bathroom is also very small, but good enough for our needs.  Everything was very clean.  It is less than 5 minutes to everything in Sundance and a pretty 40 minute drive to the tower.  Glad we found this little gem!

Perfect Spot for Nearby Devil's Tower

We absolutely loved our stay. Check in is so easy. They text you the keypad code prior to arrival so there's no formal check in via a Lobby. The cabins are clean with all the necessities: AC, ceiling fan, kitchen items, bathroom amenities, etc. It's a hidden driveway, but don't let that scare you. It's amazing. 

Fantastic, Clean Little Cabins

Such a cute little cabin with a great view. It was very clean & stocked well for everything you would need. We loved the front porch & the fireplace which was great for the cool morning. We like the fact that we didn't have to walk into a lobby to check in. We had a minor problem, but Matt was quick to respond by text & make it right.

Remote & quiet, but close to everything.

I feel so lucky. I was driving from San Juan Islands to Florida and passing through Sundance during August which is Sturgis. But I was able to secure cabin number three for two nights. My husband and I were very happy with the cabin. It had a big queen size bed and then a separate little room with two bunkbeds and there's even a loft. A fireplace a TV a cute little kitchen Wi-Fi and some horses roaming around in front. The price and location cannot be beat. Had a great little front porch. And lastly,
The property manager Matt has got to be the nicest person that I've never met. LOL. We did everything by phone and email. He even texted me when my room was ready to check in because it was early. This is a great place I can't say enough good things. Except it's really clean too

How did I find this?

We stayed here on way to the Tetons and found our cabin to be clean and easy to access. Loved the front porch and appreciated access to a kitchen. I'm not sure what we'd do here for more than a stop-over, but we enjoyed it. Note: the bunk beds (as noted on their website) are for small children. The top bunk is very close to the ceiling and even our small child who would fit there was freaked out by the closeness to the ceiling and refused to sleep there. My husband ended up sleeping on the provided blow-up in the loft space so that our daughter could sleep in the full bed with me. Not a big deal; we made it work - just FYI.

Good for a quick overnight stop

Room had an intense smell.  Like Pine-Sol cleaner on steroids.  Opened all of the windows and left for an hour. Came back and it wasn’t any better. Called the office, got an answering machine. So, I left a message about the chemical smell. Left again with windows opened. No one ever called back. 5-6 hours later room was still uninhabitable. So we had to leave. Out over $125.00.  Not sure what chemical used in room was. My lungs were congested after just a few minutes in room. I coughed for 2 hours. Definitely NOT Pine-Sol.

Main cabin heater also wasn’t functioning. Thermostat said filter was too dirty. I saw it and it was clogged with dirt. Upper  
little room of Cowboy Cabin was too dirty to use. Overall cleanliness of Cabin was 5 out of 10. 

There is no check-in at this hotel. So, you never meet anyone, and, if there is an issue, no one will call you back. I would guess they did not want any chance of giving me a refund. A total waste of my money and time. A bunch of thieves. Avoid this place at all costs.

Had to leave for another hotel. Avoid this place.

Very clean with an easy location on a hill at the edge of town with fast freeway access.  We had two very small bedrooms downstairs and the upstairs "loft" was a tights squeeze (kids would be ok there but couldn't stand up).  They are doing some work on the property so the distant view was great but up close was bare dirt (September '20) Nevertheless, having a drink on your deck is relaxing.  Per the eating suggestions left for us, we had a REALLY good takeout meal from the Longhorn Saloon and Grill and ate on our deck. Check in was via code so it was easy in and out.
