I had a feeling like I was in a family room. Good breakfasts that are made to our liking, big portions that are hard to eat alone. The owners go to the grocery store themselves even during breakfast, if something ends up in the kitchen. We slept so well on these huge beds! A huge bathroom combined with a toilet where there is no bad smell of sewage (which is very important). We always asked the owners of the hotel where best to go for lunch and their recommendations were never unlucky.

We felt like guests.

I've never seen a dirtier hotel before. It's all covered in a layer of dust. The windows are unwashed. The windows are covered in curtains. The toilets are covered in black mold. The toilets are covered in dirty floors. The toilets are colorful. The mirrors are in divorce. The bed linen looks dubious. It's shown that it's about, but in fact the guest house is the owner who lives here.

The dirt

I've read the reviews about this hotel and now that I live here, I understand why there are so many excellent ratings. The owners are personally involved in the hotel, helping their guests with information, keeping their rooms clean, and making delicious breakfasts, taking into account the wishes of their guests.

The hosts are hospitable and comfortable.

The rooms are very spacious, the ceiling is 4.5 meters, the dining room is beautiful, the courtyard is small with a swimming pool, it's a nice breakfast, you can park your car in front of the hotel, it's cool and smells good.

I really enjoyed it, mentally...

We stayed here for a few days, the young man running reception spoke good English. We tried calling the hotel while we were driving there with a taxi driver who did not know where this place was. Unfortunately, no answer and when we finally found it, the reason for no answer was that there was a power cut, and landlines therefore did not work during power outages. The rooms are large, but outdated. The included breakfast was very good always. The family are nice and pleasant and helpful. Only reason for 3 stars is because of the dated rooms.

Average older B&B operated by a family

It is a small family guest house. The rooms are quite cozy (by Samarkand's standards) with spacious accommodation - many attractions are accessible on foot, the house itself is on a quiet shady street. It is not the very center, but it is safe and pleasant to walk around Samarkand for 10-15 minutes, and for the very tired - a taxi costs a few pennies.

It's cozy and hospitable.

It was a horrific experience for me and family. When we reached Samarkand, it was bitterly cold and somehow we managed to get to the hotel. My first impression of the hotel was good as it was a huge building from inside and the room provided to us was also pretty big. However there were hardly any staff in the hotel to look after the guests except for one little girl who could not even carry my baggage to my room.the next awful thing that happened was the power failure at  around 14:00 hrs. There was no information on the same from the hotel owner. It was around 17:30 hrs when I decided to go down and enquire. By that time it was pitch dark. They said power will be back in the next 30 minutes or so. However the hotel owner did not even offer a candle or a battery operated light to us and we were made to sit in our room sorrounded by darkness. Accordingly we decided to go for an early dinner and spent a good 2 hrs and 30 mins outside hoping that by the time we get back, there will be power in the hotel. When we came back, it was still dark and upon enquiry,we got no satisfactory answer. The next best thing that we could do was to shift to another hotel and luckily there was a hotel just opposite to Samarkand Safar. We went to enquire there and found that there is a vacant room over there and then with the help of them, we finally moved our baggage to the other hotel.

Stay at hotel Samarkand Safar

If you’re couple or family it’s nice place to spend weekend in Amir Temur town. Most of attractions are nearby. The host will explain you where to eat correctly like locals. That’s most important thing in this 100% touristic place. Forget all these Samarkand, Platan and Karimbeck rest ranked so high in Triad. It’s wrong place and not worth to visit. All advices the owner gave - cost a lot. Feel yourself conf seat round a table like during familie’s breakfast. And finally could be lucky to see owner’s communist limousine, “Chayka” 65’. That’s really amazing. The only problem, if you’re young and want live misic&drink - no chance. Even though “Blues bar” is in 2 blocks, but no live sound and 4 shots of tequila will cost you full dinner for 3 with all drinks in barbecues cafe on famous Kokandskaya street

Good family hotel in peaceful location

The hotel is quite far from the main sights in the city centre (about 30 minutes walking), and located next to a (maybe obsolete?) synagogue (which may be a handy landmark when you're looking for it with your taxi driver). It has big rooms and friendly owners, who speak English, French and Russian, make a nice served breakfast every morning and will be quite helpful. You can pay by credit card (including Mastercard, which is rare in Uzbekistan) - when it works. In the neighbourhood there is also a bank where you can withdraw money using Mastercard (also quite rare) - when it works.

Large rooms, but quite a walk

Here you will be a desirable guest with a welcoming but unobtrusive host. A quiet place in the center with the atmosphere of a luxurious eastern house, with European coziness, delicious and generous food. If you are lucky, the host - a very interesting educated person with a bright destiny - will also reveal to you the secrets of the house, and, a little, his secrets.
