We arrived in a small boat at this small family restaurant or we had a great lunch in a very pleasant setting, especially we tasted a local fish cut vertically, highly recommended

A small restaurant in the delta

The stay at the homestay for three days at the end of the trip was just right. We were welcomed as family members. The family was very hospitable and read every wish from our eyes. Thank you very much.

Best stay in the Mekong Delta

Little corner of paradise after a boat ride this place is magical especially around lunchtime the elephant ear (fish) grilled version nems made on the spot is great after an avalanche of dishes we left vars the boat rowed to play the nabes see the boudas in my case ane don't miss this little restaurant cheap didn't make the hotel that restaurant

FLAINERY and LOVING

We were there for 3 night. 
This place is very quiet when you come from HCMC!
It's a "family chalet" now open to tourist. And you will feel it during your stay. 
The family member working there and they are very polite and nice.
Just one person speak english.
The food is very great and at good price, and the owner, very nice person, will help you for everything you need and can even sell you wonderful tour with no tourist but you (55U$ for 2).
All around you can walk or bike or motorbike in the small path in the jungle of coco, jack threes, mangrove and so on.
About the stay note that the shower is really rustic, the mattress is little jard and you are 20 min to center Ben Tre. So if you are looking for 5 star hotel it's not your place. For us it was very nice.


Nice place!

We met the hostess' brother in town and he brought us to the homestay. Nice and quiet surroundings, basic room with a hard mattress and very friendly people. But if they want to be successful and truly professional there is still a lot to learn. And we say this with the best intentions.

It could be cleaner (spiderwebs, clearing glasses off tables the same day) and better cared for in general (holes in mosquito net and in the sheets). The food is good but not great, moreover, we ate basically the same dish two nights in a row.

The brother offered us a tour which turned out a bit of a disappointment. Only the morning itself it became clear he wasn't guiding himself. Although the girl was nice and did well, this should have been told beforehand. Only two stops since we've already seen the third, but there was no substitution for this. Also it was a lot shorter than announced even with omitting the third stop. We were expected to give tips to the boatsmen even if the trip already costed $ 35. On top, he was disappointed we didn't want to do a bike tour afterwards as he kept making fun of us for wanting to relax.

In conclusion, the potential is there but they've got some work to do. Make the place a bit nicer and level up the service to the expectations you shape. If you say customer is king, stand by your word, display respect and deliver for the money you ask.

Good intentions, but not there yet

This was the highlight of our four week trip in vietnam.
We were picked up by our host family on skooters from where the taxi dropped us in Ben Tre out of the town noisy area into the coconut fields (peaceful green jungle) and to us this was exactly what we were looking for. 
The Room we had was a local wooden vietnamese house which gave us the real local experience.
The food was amazing and had a little bit of everything but you could feel it was made with love ,you can see for yourself in the pictures if your reading this.

Hoa Dua is ideal for travellers not looking for crowded noisy towns and with nature all around you. Our host Dueyl was so so so helpful and very kind understanding patient and well informed about everything.she was really hardworking and professional when we were there and we did a local tour with her around the area and later cycled and scooted on our own which was fun and thrilling for us.

Hoa Dua was perfect for us and i would recommend this homestay to all those looking for a nature-relaxing stay.we were there for three nights but if we had more time we would definately stay there longer.

Most authentic Ben Tre experience

This is really a family-owned business - we got to meet the 3 generations and they were all so genuinely kind and helpful, always smiling. The grandma cooked us the best meals (so much food!), the Mom (who's a tour guide) took us on the most beautiful and interesting boat and bike tours. The place is not easy to find (small village 6km south from Ben Tre) - the best is to book in advance or call the host when you arrive in Ben Tre (tel: 0945619395 or 0982816752) and they'll come get you in moto bike. The rooms/bungalows are basic but it's all you need for a few days in nature - and you pay less than $15 per night per person for the room, dinner and breakfast! We had the whole place for ourselves and just loved it - it's just so peaceful and the family so sweet. Highly recommended - way better than staying in the city center and probably our most authentic experience in the Mekong Delta.

Awesome place for an authentic experience in the Mekong Delta

We haven't stayed in this house, but met the family during our 3-hour boat tour around Ben Tre. We randomly met the father around the night market, who offered us a boat tour for the next day, led by his daughter.
The tour was great, she was super nice and informative. We sailed along the main canal for a while, then visited a coconut factory, where she explained how people work there. Later we entered a smaller canal and done a 15min walk on the shore along small canals, gardens and coconut trees. It was really beautiful. That's when we visited this homestay on our way, where we got a coconut drink for refreshment (we were offered lunch as well at the booking, but we didn't want to eat that early). It turned out that our tour guide's mother served us and this was their house. They were both super nice and the home looked awesome too!
After the break, we walked back to an even smaller little canal, where we were picked up by paddling boats and cruised along the tiny canal, back to our boat on the bigger one. It was really beautiful and peaceful, no other tourists, just local fishermen and lots of coconut trees.
The tour ended where we started, next to the main bridge in the city. 
We all loved the tour and recommend it to anyone who wants to discover Ben Tre in private.

the paradise

This is the first review I write on TripAdvisor, but I have to get rid of my joy somewhere. I've been here for three days, and I really wanted to stay one night and take the boat tour the next day, but then I got really sick. And I don't know anyone who would have taken more care of me with more dedication than this family. They ask me if I need anything, get me tea, get me ice cream from the neighbors, buy me my motorcycle, and now I'm back to Ho Chi Minh City to get my plane home. It's really a carefree package. Even before that, it was super. The cooking room is so much more dedicated to taking care of me than this family.
