Chau Doc

Stayed at Dong Nam hotel for 1 night (room 111) while traveled to Phu Quoc.
We also had dinner which included 
Bun Mam",  a local well known dish; and we had a good breakfast buffet.
All in all everything seems to be OK. The bed is a little on the hard side. I like it but my girlfriend didn't like it.  Sound proofing is not good as we can hear the traffic noise from the street outside. This is an OK 3 star hotel. I would come back.

From the outside, it was a good-looking building, the interior - old, socialist style. Check-in was easy (group trip), dinner ordered early for the whole group was good and not too expensive. Breakfast was also good and sufficient. Rooms were large and quiet although the hotel is next to the four-way street.

For passersby, all right.

Check-in was super fast, but only an elevator. We had a super big room with a big bathroom right in front of the 6th street. Cleanliness, etc. Since we were already going on at 6:15 the next day, that was for one night, etc. Because of the early group departure, there was already breakfast at 5:30 a.m., a super service. In the evening we ate with the group at the hotel, everything was really delicious and enough with friendly service. Yes, hardly anyone speaks English, but understanding is possible. Breakfast was very good too.

A Night on the Road to Cambodia

Dong Nam Hotel is located in the middle of a dusty avenue with 6 lanes, 4 km away from the center of Chau Doc.
The reception is very friendly but does not speak English.
To go to Chau Doc, you must order a taxi and take another one for the return.
The room is clean but furnished in the style of a monastery room with a double bed, one night table, one chair and an old television.
No tea bag or coffee. No device for heating water.
Management seems very economical to prejudice the welfare of the client.
The breakfast is ok, the female staff is present but does not take care of customers, except when time comes to closing the buffet.
In conclusion : the town of Chau Doc is located far from the Dong Nam Hotel and the manager seems unconcerned about the welfare of the client.

A HOTEL AWAY FROM THE CITY OF CHAU DOC

The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful.  They helped with directions and distances.  The room had a window and the bed was comfortable.  My motorbike was secure over night and there is the option to have breakfast for 50,000VND

It's a simple but decent hotel, and for a few days, it's a good starting point for the fascinating environment, and breakfast is as normal as any hotel, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Fully sufficient...

The Dong Nam Hotel, located in Chau Doc. Vietnam, is an old basic hotel that has become rundown due to lack of maintenance.  While the rooms are adequate, our room had mold all over the bathroom and pipes leading to air conditioning.  Upon complaining, we were upgraded to the owner’s suite as a courtesy.  This was in the front corner of the hotel with a private balcony and very large.  The furniture was old but made of mahogany and of very high quality.  The bed was a king and the bathroom more than sufficient.  We had dinner out in town and only had breakfast at the hotel.  It was adequate.  The only good part of our overnight stay was the fact that we were surrounded by rice paddies.  There were small farm buildings and palm trees in the distance.  The sunset was spectacular and I got some excellent photos of the scenery.

Hotel as such is ok. Nothing special but decent. Mostly used by tour bus groups. Its 3 km from the city and nothing to do around apart from some small shops. Rooms were ok and clean. No safe in the room. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and took some work to explain our orders. The food was ok and the personnel was very willing but lacked even basic English. Ok to stay her for a night when you plan to sail to Cambodja.

Outside town

Always stay there whenever I travel to Chau Doc. Though I didn't manage to experience other hotels but felt satified with Dong Nam Hotel then stick to it. Not a real decent hotel but for a short stay 1-2 nights is quite ok.

My only choice in town

The hotel is very comfortable and the staff is very kind and willing to help! But the hotel is very far from the city, and there is nothing around! So you have to go to the hotel restaurant to eat (very expensive!!) or take a motor taxi to eat in the city, which is also more expensive...
