Hilariously old school. My room had two queen beds; one was comfy memory foam the other was cheap thin mattress. Bathroom was a wet room which was fine, big enough that counter didn’t get wet. Good mini fridge, A/C. Room was biggest so far out of 6 hotels on my journey in south east Asia. Enough surfaces to spread out on for one person (not for two). No elevator and the diminutive staff member ( and room cleaner) insisted on carrying my heavy carry-on up three flights. Everything in the hotel is clean. Staff don’t speak English at all ( like 90% of the island) so I used google translate to interact. Hotel front is sort of a cafe, nice to sit on the mini chairs. They gave me little cold teas every time I sat down and asked me often (via google translate) whether I needed towels, utensils etc. No credit cards but staff drove me to ATM on her motorbike. Power on the island goes out every other day due to wind,FYI.

For the money it’s decent

Good location, close to the main attractions. Clean rooms, good value for the money. Helpful and friendly staff. Motorcycles available for rent. Enjoyable to roam around to cool off and explore, not as busy as other locations in Vietnam. 

We spent 2 nights at the Red Hotel. It was fine for the price. The situation is very central. The staff was very nice. The luggage was dragged up, but no one helped (not so tragic... but we had help everywhere else). Those who are on comfortable beds will probably be disappointed a bit. The beds were hard. We shortened our stay for a short time, because the island was almost dead. This was not at the hotel. We were even priced. Rollers could also be rented cheaply there. Whoever wanted to have a drink or something in the evening comfortably, there is exactly an option and the more expensive. Everything else is permanently closed! Even though the Internet was still open... Unfortunately, there were also no shops closed... Even the crazy dog had no streets.

The first time to Con Dao, i had book a room via Booking.com. The hotel at Center of Con Son islands, very near the market, food, restaurant, and historical locations. The price is very cheap and the room clean 

Good hotel

Ideally located, this small hotel brings together everything a traveler on the island needs: a helpful and friendly staff, a spacious, clean and well equipped room and top-of-the-line service.

On top of it!

Very convenient location with restaurants and markets around. The staff welcoming us was very friendly and helpful by booking activities and taxis for us and giving us all needed information. The room is basic, Vietnamese style, with air conditioning, cleaning everyday, comfortable bed, only the fan seemed to not have been used in a long time and so dusty that we couldn't use it. Otherwise the hotel has all the amenities like laundry, water, food, even umbrellas and bike/scooter rental. We rented a scooter which was really cheap and the best way to tour around the island on your own. I can only recommend this hotel. Thanks to the staff.

Convenient hotel

Its a skinny hotel. The architecture is purely Vietnamese but the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Hire a bike for about 120,000 a day and scoot around the island. You will thank yourself forever for having visited Con Dao. The staff are very kind and helpful, and there are restaurants and shops all within walking distance.

Remarkably Quite and Centrally Located

Simple but nice hotel, clean. Very friendly staff in the reception, one of them speaking good english which is quite rare in Con Dao. The walls were very thin and outside our window roosters started making noise very early. The location is central with walking distance to the few restaurants in Con Dao. There are beaches in town but to access the nicer beaches you need to hire a moped or taxi.

Nice and clean hotel with good location

Even if the island is built here and there - a real tourist destination is not this. The offer of accommodation is therefore limited and so one accepts even a clean and simple accommodation. I booked a Superior Room, which according to the website has a balcony, and got assigned at check-in the 208 which has no balcony. I claimed this and got the 201, a family room with two double beds. Both rooms had the VIP plaque at the door, which should have been a large room. Both rooms had a cold stone floor and so in the bathroom the shower over the bathroom is clean with no cabin. But the water from the shower usually drains right out of the cabin and the bathroom was cold at night. I was not allowed to come to the hotel without the help of the superintendent, so I should have been able to talk to the next person, and I should have been able to do something with the superintendent of the bathroom, and I should have been able to do it without the help of the superintendent of the bathroom.

Price/performance is top, but a good hotel isn't

We stayed at this hotel when we were staying at Con Dao! Everything was very neat and clean. We had a pretty big room with balcony, everything with tiles. The bathroom was okay. Quite small! Unfortunately there was no boundary for the shower. The staff was very diligent. Everyone was very kind and helpful, for example, for the transfers. It was very nice that we could book simple bikes in the hotel. Total enough for the place and the surroundings.
