We were very hesitant staying here because of all of the bad reviews but we’re really surprised. We ended up staying 3 nights as the price was great compared with most places in Hanoi, the rooms were big and breakfast was great! 

Cheap place, great rooms and breakfast

I WILL NEVER EVER STAY IN THIS HOSTEL EVEN FOR FREE!!! The big guy receptionist was very very rude. First he told me that my booking is doesn't exist. After I showed the proof of my booking, he unpolitely gave us the key. When we saw the room, it was really horrible and smell very bad. Also the room was for single though I was write my preference for double bed because I'm going with my husband. When we complained to the reception he told us that the room was the only one left, and if we won't take it we can go and ask for refund to Traveloka. Of course we were very disapointed then left the hotel. After that I sent an email to Traveloka to complain about the booking but Traveloka told me that the hostel party said he had given us double room as the request and they couldn't give us the refund.

Worst Hostel I've Ever Been

When we arrived at the hotel we thought it was good, since the receptionist is a very good guy, but the room was not very clean, the bathroom was bad and the faucet was in and dripping all the time on the floor.

Timadores are the only ones.

The staff is very friendly and helpful but:

The room was damp and moly, that's probably why it didn't smell nice. We had small red bugs and slightly bigger black bugs in our beds and not just 3 or 4... 
when we told the staff he didn't even bother looking, he must have known about that and we wish we would have read the reviews before we checked in! 

Do not stay there

We was in Hanoi first time. And we needed simple cheap hostel for 2 days. But... 
We found bed bugs on the bed and quickly left this place... Owner returned money. But only for room, where were bed bugs (we booked two rooms).

By far the cheapest, single, private room I found in Hanoi. For the price, this place is great: comfy bed, hot shower, and just far enough away from the madness of beer street to get a good night's sleep. Would definitely recommend to bargain hunters.

Really great for on-a-budget solo travellers.

Even after 4 months of backpacking all over Asia I never saw this, when I got to the reception I announced my resa for a double room and the reception told me that there is only one family room left for $18 while I'm with my friend. I showed the receptionist that on the booking site there is also a double room left she keeps me that no. I recommend you go your way unless you want to give your money to these thieves.

What to Avoid

Dirty room, dirty bedding when we arrived in the room and the smell of mold! It was impossible to leave the hotel because we had booked online and made a deposit! Our worst night in Vietnam without hesitation!!

It's horrible! Worst experience in Vietnam

Clean hotel, well located, with very welcoming staff who offered us a lot of tours that we loved: with Royah Heritage Cruise on Halong Bay (2 days) and Sapa hikes (3 days). Everything was very well organized. Clean rooms. Quiet hotel. Hotel near 36th street, night market and hoan kiem lake.

It's a good hotel.

An unpleasant reception, a sordid room that did not fit the description of the reservation, and very unclear relations and arrangements between different neighborhood hotels at the expense of tourists and travelers.
